"I was totally fooled" -Nicholas Lawrence

"By far the most visual linking band you can do." -Dan Hauss

"A jaw-dropping method." -Dalton Wayne

Two rubber bands are shown in full view. Clearly separate. Then, like an archer, you shoot one band into the other and like a colorful coral snake you can actually see the band slither madly as it links itself ON ITS OWN to the other band. It's as visually interesting as it is stunning and fooling! The bands are genuinely linked!

Dan Hauss literally discovered a new property of rubber so valuable, that he immediately recognized it as the ONLY way to perform a linking band. HIs discovery allowed him to improve one of his best tricks and turn it into a masterpiece.

What you're looking at, Linking Time 2.0 is a perfect illusion, a brilliant discovery complete with polished handling, and is a guaranteed fooler. Basically everything that makes you feel warm and fuzzy about a magic trick.

Linking Time 2.0 is POWERFUL and EASY TO DO. It uses no secret props, pieces, magnets, and no extra rubber bands. It gets our highest recommendation.

The method is OK, not great, it will fly. Not practical for myself as a working pro doing strolling.

The teaching was absolutely terrible. You need a lighter for the setup. he could not find a lighter for the teaching, kept commenting on using one because that will make set up easier, then mentioned using a gas stove (seriously Dan!?) only to be left with a giant box of matches while commenting that you should use a lighter.

I'm sure there was at least one person somewhere on the crew that smokes, that you could have borrowed one from. Or go to the corner gas station and get one for a buck.

This can NOT be handed out after the link either.

Don't Waste Time with Linking Report this review

This is perhaps my most disappointing Penguin Magic purchase. The effect looks good in the promo, but the actually effect and accompanying tutorial are, to be kind, substandard. I perform several rubber band effects, and this one will be going straight into my junk drawer.

For starters...Mr. Hauss has not even prepared himself for the filming of the tutorial. Maybe having all required items would have been a good idea.

It seems that "The Method" has been given more importance than the effect. There are several other effects on the market that accomplish the same thing in a much better way.

Conclusion: Download directly to your Recycle Bin

I have to say I was a little disappointed with this effect.

Dan is a great performer and thinker, but this one isn't something I would personally perform.

With all due respects intended, I found this particular technique rather disappointing. I have seen much better rubberband techniques that did not require a crude set-up. Just being honest.

Too much prep! Report this review

Well, I've seen better linking rubberband effects that doesn't require this kind of preparation. Not as great in a working repertoire as one could think, but it sure is a great visual when presented as a stand-alone effect. And the preparation is too insecure... but anyway, great thinking!

Maybe Dan Hauss finds how to perform the trick out there, and maybe it works for him; but I think the trick is a little too much impractical and I don't find a way to go out and perform it.

Genius in Simplicity Report this review

This is a little knacky, but give it a little practice, and you'll have a killer. To the audience it will simply look like you linked 2 rubber bands together. The bands will not be held in come suspicious contorted manner. They will simply be dangling from your finger. So simple, but so beautiful. It looks exactly as it does in the promotional video. They mention using the Joe Rindfleisch rubber bands and I agree. They take well to the preparation of the effect. And they come in some funky colours. Great effect.
