well.. it's obviously good, but:
1) you can't use it in one close-up set with bicycle which I
use in all card tricks
2) you can't do a deck switch
3) marks are easily can be found by
anybody, literally anyone can find it just with comparing 2-3 cards, and if you riffle - all the
details are blinking on the cards screaming "here are the marks!"
4) too overpriced for just one
deck (which you will need to replace)
So it's good for collection or one trick occasions, but
useless for pro work at gigs because of deck's "strangeness" and easy marks spotting

I absolutely love these cards and just performed a couple of miracles with them 2 hours after
receiving them. As one other reviewer pointed out these are definitely not bicycle cards and
spectators may become suspicious because they don't have cute angels riding bikes or plucking
mandolins. I absolutely did get a couple of spectators asking me to see the cards and I have to tell
you they didn't see a thing. The 2 women who asked thought they were pretty and then handed them
back and let me continue. One thing I do at a gig with cards like these (Adam Wilbur's keepers) is
talk about how Target is releasing a lot of interesting cards these days that are non-traditional
and that I'm bringing them to make me less bored and change things up so we all win. That usually
sets people at ease and the cards no longer have heat on them.
As for cost, deck switches
etc., yes you're right on all that. I deck switched 808's for 809's all the time and no one has
ever caught me using Penguin's marked decks that's why they're so great.
But these give
you what looks like true magical skill with the borderless design and markings. Cutting straight to
aces no crimps, breathers etc. The refills are pretty nicely priced and will be purchasing these
asap. I'll be using these in walk around gigs to change things up. I hope that helps others make
their decision and provides some insight into how another strolling magician has used these babies.
As always your mileage may vary due to style etc. but these are going to work well for me.

I started learning magic a few months back and recently bought the Butterfly Marked deck, along with
a few other marked decks. I can say without hesitation, this is quite easily the best marked deck i
have seen. what makes it unique is the One way and Two way marking system that allows the magician
to do so many different tricks and each time the audience is left "mouth open"..completely
dumb-founded. Brilliant!
This is brilliant. This is brilliant and as described largely undetectable to even trained magicians
(see also penn & teller fool us season 6 episode 1)
the flexibility and creativity you can
utilize with this tool is immeasurable.
I absolutely love this and would give more stars if i
could.
I am a novice/amateur who has been learning magic and teaching my young kids magic for a
little over a year, and I would have to disagree with another comment that this isn't for beginners.
I am no where near the point where I feel that I would ever actually perform on a stage, yet I feel
like I picked this trick up very quickly and can perform many utilizations of it seamlessly.
Fantastic
It has many build-in features. Yes, it's marked. You can read a mark without spreading the deck. It
has one way feature at back, side, and face. Very useful. So good that this deck has option to buy a
refill pack.
i love theim. Many possibilities. You can find any card just by looking at the border of the deck in
three second max.
Just got back from Blackpool Magic convention and returned with the whole pack of these... i own the
first edition and honestly i never really dug in it because i thought that it is too difficult for
me to ever learn the system... but now after watching Ondrej perform the effect with it i just go
the deck and realized that the system is in fact real easy to learn and use... and you really can do
things with the deck that you possibly can not do with other marked decks out there...
Easy and fast to read marks once you learn the system. It feels a little bit weird the first time
you use it, but as you don't really require any sleight of hand to make the system work it doesn't
matter so much.
wow this is a pretty deck in design and super clever in coding! Thanks for the fun deck to use! I
will use it often! Now I just need a red one!
