About the Magician: Gary Darwin Born: September 19th, 1935 in Denver Colorado. First trick: Darwin's grandfather performed a cigarette vanish for a six year old Darwin. A year later a family friend, Professor Lamont, plucked a silver dollar from his ear. From that moment Darwin was hooked on magic. Today Darwin is one of the top performers in Las Vegas. He is also a consummate collector, researcher, inventor, organizer, and writer. Darwin has created over 500 magic effects. He's also written several magic books including: Darwin's Close Up Miracles, Darwin's Thumb Tip Secrets, Darwin's Thumb Tip Thinking, and Inexpensive Illusion. Darwin's professional credits include performances at the Stardust, the Lido, Caesar's Palace, the Silver Bird, the Flamingo, the Desert Inn, the Mint, the MGM Grand, and resort hotels in Reno, Lake Tahoe, and Canada. Darwin owns one of the largest magic libraries in the world. There are over 10,000 books in the library in addition to autographs, posters, and other magic related memorabilia. Darwin's home is a museum of all things magic. Darwin is also the founder of the Darwin Magic Club. The Club has met every Wednesday Night for over 39 years. The club has over 500 members, and its roster includes many of the biggest names in magic. Trivia:
"I think the Thumb Tip is the greatest thing ever invented for the magician because it gives you the appearance of great sleight of hand instantly. The Thumb Tip is almost like Rock and Roll... You can do it the same day! It's the greatest gimmick ever invented, no doubt about it." -- Gary Darwin "[Darwin is] the only man I've ever seen do the Downs' coin star with both hands..." -- J. B. This DVD is WAAAAAY underpriced for what it is. Darwin and Penguin should be charging 400 bucks for
this set.
The reason? You get like... 6 hours of TT material! I had no idea how many things were possible with the TT, and I had been using it for YEARS! Please do yourself a favour and pick this set up! Did this review help you?
this set is very good, it has so many effects. after learning the effects in this set you will never
go out without a TT. there are effects with so many diffrents objects.
also, there are few effects, without a TT that are really fun to do. I highly recommend it Did this review help you?

There is a lot of material on here. The problem is that you're only going to be realistically
performing one TT trick. This is kind of overkill on the TT. The tricks are well taught and there
is an amazing range of tricks on this set.

Darwin has made a great collection of tecniques, history of thumb tip and great tricks!
I loved it! Did this review help you?
Many magicians will always concider thumb tip magic as old and outdated. We figure that enough
laypeople know about the gimmick that it is to risky to use....FALSE! these dvds change all of
that...the thumb tip works because no one looks for it and the tricks on these dvds use this to
their advantage. sure everyone knows the old silk and thumbtip...but not using it for card trick or
any bill switches. ADD TO CART. and get a thumb tip for gods sake

TITLE and Creator: Encyclopedia Of Thumb Tip Magic, By Darwin.
Effect: Many great effects, one of my favorite effects is the linking paper clips Price: At first i was thinking, man! that's kinda expensive, but i really wanted to learn TT magic, and i had some cash from Christmas, so i got it, all i have to say, is WOW!!! So worth it!!!! Teaching: Darwin is a GREAT teacher, and i do mean great, i only had to rewind the dvd a few times, and that was with one effect that is a bit confusing, but worth it to learn. Quality of materials(if it is a gimmik etc): i think it came with a TT, im not quite sure, but if it did, it is a good thumb tip, and, he also reccomends different products that are genius, for those who want to delve further into the TT world. Difficulty: Some are a bit hard, but if you are good with TT, then not too bad. Applications: thanks to this, and only this, I have my tt with me ALL the time. Overall Rating: 9/10 Did this review help you?

This really is the encyclopedia of thumb tip magic. Darwin does an excellent job not only explaining
various routines using a thumb tip, but he also does a good job explaining the history of thumb tips
and their origin. There is so much material on these three DVD's, and you will learn a ton of great
stuff. You will not be disappointed if you get this. Darwin is an excellent teacher and he leaves
nothing out. I highly recommend this DVD set!

Talk about overkill! There are lots of great tricks here, but unless you're really doing only
thumb magic for the rest of your life, it's definitely over the tip. I recommend the first volume,
and leave it at that. Too much of a good thing, I have to say.
