I really really enjoy doing this trick. If there is a downside to it you have to carry around tags
and a hole puncher.
The "Gimmick" is very clever and easy to make. I have, as most people will, changed up the presentation a bit. I noticed in the demo video he replaces the card from the back, but there is no reason you can't load the card in from the front. Also, after the card is replaced, I ask them to hold the tag very tight, and I just take half a step back, and let their card be pulled out. After you put the card with the tag on it back into the deck, the trick is done. No funky moves. You could have one person hold the deck and another hold the tag. The gimmick can be added into the deck, and removed with minimal effort. Although the deck can't be held up to close scrutiny, the gimmick is not very obvious. Did this review help you?
This product sounded cool, after reading the description. So, I decided to pick this up. The gimmick
I have to say was impressive, easy to make and really hard to detect. The trick itself I wasn't so
impressed with. And the demo video doesn't help.
Effect: The effect is impressive. The fact that you can do this "Almost Impromptu" thing is great, and it is impossible magic. I shall question the handling it comes with though. If you watch the demo video, don't you feel that the time in between him threading the tag onto the card and the time when the spectator gets to hold the card gives people the idea that there is a switch? (There isn't a switch... exactly... sort of...) So with the handling it comes with, it isn't worth the money to me. I think that with a few minor changes (someone holding on to the tag as you thread it on) makes this trick a worthwhile buy. Gimmick: The gimmick in this trick is built as well as it can be. You probably will have to rebuild the gimmick twice or three times for ten performances, but it is easy and the materials only cost you about a buck. Handling: As I said earlier, the handling is pretty bad without a few changes (more than I listed here) to make the effect good. Cost: This cost a little more than it should have, but the difference is trivial. Teaching: The teaching of this, on the old DVD, was really bad. The teaching on the instructions is very well done and tells you how to perform this. (It comes with instructions and DVD) Difficulty: This effect is almost too easy. Seriously, it takes NO dexterity. Rating: From now on I rate tricks on a scale of one to five, five bieng the best. I rate this a 3.0. With minor changes, it becomes a 4.0. Did this review help you?
