Return to the Gold Standard!

Richard Turner's brand new Gold Seal Bicycle Cards are The Gold Standard in Bicycle Playing Cards and are now available to the professional magician, gambler, card mechanic, and every playing card aficionado in search of a great deck of cards. You asked for it-you've got it!

Magicians and cardmen from around the world have asked Richard many times to employ the same card-making standards he developed for his Gamblers and Bee Cards to create a top of the line deck of the most popular playing cards ever produced, the trademarked 808 Rider Back Bicycles. The magic community also asked that Richard include two traditional matching Jokers in his deck, as well as a blank card with the Rider Bike back to use in reverse fans. Performers of gambling-related acts will also find the blank card useful as a cut-card when performing Greek-deals and other moves requiring a nondescript bottom card.

Quality

Each deck of Gold Seal Bicycle Cards is constructed using Bee stock, world renowned for its flexibility, yet long-lasting durability. They are stamped to a caliper/thickness that facilitates classic moves like bottom and center dealing and are embossed to a depth that does not break down the structural integrity of the card, yet still allows each card to breathe properly, thereby reducing the gum-up and hangers often caused by finger moisture.

But, most importantly, since these cards were manufactured to Richard Turner's demanding personal specifications, they are Traditionally Cut!

The Process

Unlike most of the cards manufactured today, the cutting blade used in traditionally cut cards starts at the face of each card and punches through to its back. As a result, a sharp edge is created on the backside of each card and a rounded edge, which facilitates a flawless weave during each shuffle, is formed on the card's face.

Traditionally cut cards ensure that card men and magicians can easily interlace the cards to produce crisp, clean shuffles, especially with some of the more intricate shuffling techniques like the one-handed shuffle, and the faro shuffle, both in-hand, and on the table.

For over 100 years traditional card cutting was the norm, but the process was changed about fifteen years ago. Casinos demand traditionally cut cards, and so does Richard Turner. Shouldn't you?

If you demand the very best, be sure to look for the Gold Seal and gold label certifying that your deck is "Traditionally Cut for the Professional."

So, take it from a fan whose interest in quality playing cards was piqued four decades ago: a deck of Gold Seal Bicycle Cards simply feels right in the hand, shuffles flawlessly right out of the box, and will enhance the performance of professional magicians everywhere.
Sincerely,
Bruce T. Samboy
Gambling regulator and longtime playing card enthusiast

CARE MUST BE TAKEN WITH SHIPMENTS Report this review

The deck is a great quality , which is discovered only have it in your hands. The shipment was on time , but some decks came with its plastic cover broken. Which is annoying for a follower of card games .

One of my favorite decks... Report this review

I've had these for a month now, and have compared them to a few of the "premium" decks I've purchased. (I needed a point of comparison, being a newbie and all).

The stock is similar to Bees as is the finish. I prefer the thicker stock as they hold up better. The finish feels wonderful in the hand. I personally don't see a need for prepping the deck for use as the slight rough edges allow me to feel the individual cards a little more, but then I'm also new to card magic/mechanics. I also find that it takes longer for them to become clumpy when flourishing versus standard Bikes. The price is also right. They're less expensive than buying standard bikes at your local big box store (Wal-mart, Target). Right now I beat up the standards, and then transition to these for flourishes once I've gotten the technique down. I would recommend practicing your table and non-table faros. These are tied with Bees IMHO. They have the feel that I'm finding I really like.

Tools for a dying art form Report this review

These cards are for students of magic and mechanics who are interested in learning gambling slights like the tabled faro. Traditionally cut cards make it easier to learn how to do a tabled faro and probably increase your success rate once you've learned it. Traditionally cut cards leave a rough edge that is not as uniform as modern USPCC cards, these cards do however strike double lift well. The rough cut also helps me to hold on to the deck while doing an Erdnase style bottom deal. They are supposedly made from bee stock and are nice and durable but feel a little different (maybe not as slick). My cards were made in Ohio. Please do not buy these if you intend on bending them or abusing them. These cards were made for serious table work. If you're used to the feel of Bee's you'll now be able to do card tricks that exploit the white borders of cards like Bicycles.

These cards are awesome! They are a little bit thicker than the standards, and they last 10 times longer! they feel great. And as a bonus you get two identical jokers, the original rider back design, and a blank card :)

Good cards but don't be obsessed Report this review

To start with, I like these cards. If, like me, you use cards as a tool and want to use cards that are not going to attract spectators' attention, you can't beat Bicycles that look like you picked them up at CVS. These cards look like that and also say "Rider Back" and have the card back on the back of the pack if you care about such things (although the back on the pack won't pass for the back of a card because it's too dark). I'm not sure they Faro any more easily than regular cards, but they are infinitely easier for a one-handed shuffle. This is not a tremendously useful flourish but, if, like me, you've taken the time to learn it, you want to use it. They also feel more solid than regular Bikes and so far have lasted longer in practice sessions. I'm not sure that they work as well with blank-backed or -faced cards printed on regular stock, but that is a narrow issue. All in all, and particularly since they are not that much more than regular Bikes if you are shopping on this site, I recommend them. They're just cards, though, and the choice between these cards and other versions of Bicycles is of limited importance.

Excellent Cards, Great for Shuffling Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on October 17th, 2018
These cards are excellent for tabled faro shuffles. They are durable and traditionally cut. These cards should never stop being printed. I’ve had a deck last up to month while performing tabled faro shuffles about 30+ minutes a day before they became too worn to table faro with the desired consistency. They are not limited to shuffling. Richard Turner approves for a reason.

Best Cards Ever? Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on August 4th, 2016
The short version is that these cards are in my all-time top-three favorites, completely disregarding anything but performance. At any price, these decks would be worth owning several of.
The cards work amazingly, right out of the box; wear to a great, supple feel; and take abuse like nobody's business. I have flexed and bent these cards more than any others in my collection, yet they fan like a brand new deck. I chalk it up to the embossing depth, because other cards matching these specs do not perform as well. The cards will eventually feel "tired," but they will always do what you ask of them. Amazing stuff, these.
