Hi. This is your official PenguinMagic reviewer, B_Magic.
I bought these cards awhile back (not from Penguin unfortunately. I didn't know they even had them. Sorry Penguin). These are really nice cards. They are NOT good for magic effects at all, as they are plastic coated and don't work well with most card magic I do (they just feel weird for magic). They also have a different design which, for magic, brings undue skepticism to your routines. But they are a unique and awesome card for games, like playing poker, which I love to do.
If you like collecting interesting Bicycle cards, or want a good card game deck, go for this one. It's good.

People complain about plastic decks as not being good for regular card effects, I disagree, sure, you can't do everything that you normally can with a regular deck but that's to be expected. These cards are a lot better than the 100% plastic bicycle cards in that these can actually be spread...I don't know why anyone would want a deck of plastic cards for magic though unless they were working outdoors in a humid area, which is exactly why I bought them. I work doing magic several nights a week during a hot, humid virginia summer, these cards allowed me to perform my effects without the usual warping of the cards and without having to ruin a deck every night. For doing tricks with signed cards I used the Xpert which everyone thought was a normal sharpie and, although it doesn't completely come off when you wipe it with your hand or a tissue, it would completely come off when I got home and cleaned each signed card off with a cotton pad and little bit of rubbing alchohol, then it's good as new! Recommended for outside card work, or just for card games with a deck that you can carry around to the pool or on hikes or anywhere where you want a deck and don't want it to get ruined.
