Obviously, this is designed as an addition to a routine using a sharpie. It is really awesome! I also really like that it comes with a "test tube" like plastic holder to keep the sharpie protected while in your pocket. He teaches how to do the effect where it is a fun piece of magic and in classic Chris style, he brings a lighthearted humor to the whole thing. Excellent little effect and I would highly recommend it to anyone who does anything with a sharpie pen. This would be a perfect addition to "Chop" by Graig Petty. If you don't have Psypher, that is a great device that uses a specially gimmicked sharpie that you could use with this effect. You may need to purchase the extra "sharpie psypher pen". Mine came with a slightly different marker. However, a spare Sharpie marker is not a bad idea. Great effect, highly recommended.

I really like Permanent, and it is the perfect companion to any Sharpie-adjacent activity, not just 'pro' magicians. I wanted Permanent as a way to add something magical to balloon twisting, and it's perfect. Oddly, I get a bigger reaction from the parents than the kids.
BTW, I am an amateur newbie to magic, wanting to add a handful of effects to supplement my twisting. (Albeit, since getting my first handful of effects, I am totally hooked, and could easily see magic becoming the priority, and the twisting becoming secondary.) Anyway, I can vouch that this is a totally newb-friendly effect. :-)

We all use sharpies in our performances so why not learn a trick which actually uses the sharpie. This isn't an amazing trick but it's one worth knowing and using. The bonus tricks on this DVD make the price justified.
