About 2 years ago, Michael Diamond and I started talking about properly publishing his previously self published works, Book of Shadows 1 and 2. Well, this and that got in his way, then my way, and it has been a long journey to get here, but now, in one perfect bound volume (With a special twist we talk about at the end) including several never before published added bonus routines, we are proud to release Michael Diamond's Complete Book Of Shadows.
Here is a peek at the table of contents:
Return of the Highgate vampire - The performer spins a tale with remarkable results of vampire hunting, blood ritual and more. Fire, Blood and flying coffin pieces... who could ask for anything more!
Ignis fatuus - Tarot cards become the catalyst for a flashy finale.
The Resurrection ofGgustav Von Shreck - A ritual ends with the performer transformed perhaps into some kind of MONSTER!
The Ghost Trap - A Druid's Bottle and a friendly chat with a long trapped spirit. And finally, a release for the suspended soul.
Santa Sangre - Inspired by a film of the same title, this routine involves Santeria and an animate disembodied arm. An unusual piece that could be done in the parlor OR stage.
The Curse of the Monkey's Skull - An old ghost story comes to life as a couple wishes upon a Monkey's Skull. As with many such stories, the end may not be what is expected and the couple makes a safe decision with startling results.
Hoodoo Voodoo? - A Voodoo doll and two volunteers to become Witch Doctor and victim. But where to stick the pin... Ah that is a question but the performer new the answer even before the volunteers were chosen.
The Faces of Death - The performer shows his personal collection of mortuary pictures (And who amongst us doesn't have one of those) - a spectator selects one and interestingly enough the method of death HAPPENS in front of our eyes.
The Oracle - A Human skull is the focus of this spooky tale (And again- who amongst us doesn't have one of these...) and it finally shares that which we wish to know in a smoky message left within its display case.
The Philosopher's Stone - With the help of an age old alchemist, the performer succeeds in transforming a stone into Gold! Old Moldy-Mort would be proud as you walk in the footsteps of that Kid from the books and unleash the secrets of the philosopher's stone..
Jack's Back! The ripper that is... For a change we examine not the victims, but the SUSPECTS! But silly it is to conjure such a spirit. Jack leaves a ghostly message for all to see in his bloody wake!
13 After Midnight - Discussion of a séance and some brilliant subtleties Michael performed at the Corbett Arms Hotel for their Ghost Weekends! Some great ideas herein!
The Telling Bone - A Deck of Tarot cards, a square of wood and a long ancestral bone take the spectator into a world of evil.
Visions Of Life And Death - A wonderful Living and Dead test, wherein a SPECTATOR becomes the medium. As they gaze into a crystal ball, they are able to reveal the name among many that is that of someone deceased! Very good handling and an interesting theme I don't think has been explored before.
Psycho-Chopper - Blood guts and a wrist chopper.... need I say more?
Please Note- as you can tell MANY of these effects involve one or more of the following: Fire, glass, chemicals, flash substances, lighters, knives, and an assortment of sharp pokey ouchy hurty things. For that reason we ask that NO ONE under the age of 18 purchase this book and/or use any of the items contained herein... AND if you even know the name of a lawyer or might hurt yourself and try to blame us.... skip it. But seriously... we expect only adults with good judgment and experience to use these items and to do so safely, responsibly and in accordance with any local laws and regulations. And BE CAREFUL!

THis is the first magic book I have ordered. Overall, I think it has some good ideas and is useful
if you are into scary, dark magic. He provides good scripts to use, except they are all written for
use in the UK, but he does say that they should be modified to fit your style. The biggest problem
I have with this book is that many of the performances require hard to find chemicals, or
specialized props. Some of the chemicals can't even be ordered in the states with out special
permits. So how do we go about getting them? Otherwise I liked it overall.

Many new magicians underestimate the value of the volumes of information that lies in the old dusty
books on the shelves of the magic shops. Most of the ideas within DVDs and instructional videos
containing those new flashy tricks come from the tried-and-true methods of famous magicians. This is
a book that will provide many ideas that a magician can transform into a modern miracle.
