Why did they change it? Report this review

I am going to compare this Super Slim version to the previous version.
I purchased this item as a backup to the previous version of my hip pocket Mullica Wallet - Which I love.
First off, there is almost no difference (if any) to the thickness of this "SUPERSLIM" wallet compared to the one I had before.
Second, the new wallet uses a stiffer leather which interferes with up the handling of the wallet.
Thirdly, the ZIPPER, Why Gold? They should of stayed with black.
The makers of this wallet need to go back to the old version. And shame on Paul Harris for putting his name on this product.

the answer to the why gold is because they got the idea from
the wallet of the Great Tommy Wonder. he had this wallet with the black zipper but put a gold one in it to attract attention to it.

But it's a little pricey. This was my first card to wallet DVD so what I bought was the education to the methods and such. But still, 70$ is not cheap.
But it's not really well made. I've been using it as my day to day wallet for some time now (I bought this thing a while ago) and it's kinda coming apart at the seams here. Plus the actual gimickery of the wallet is kinda cheap. All they do is take a normal wallet and [expletive deleted]it.
However the teacher is good, funny, and gives good tricks. Really I don't have any problems with it, it is a very strong and solid effect, plays clean and not many angle issues. I just need a new wallet is all.

I'd been thinking about buying this since it first came out and was always on the fence about it. Now that I have it I wish I'd just gone ahead and got it when it first came out. This thing is perfect. Best object to wallet I've ever handled. Perfect for Oz Pearlman's "What's in a Name?" effect, as well as his Alarmed handling. Great craftsmanship, and great teaching and routines on the DVD too. All around one of the best purchases I've made in a while. Love this thing and already getting a lot of use out of it.
Why the bad reviews?????? Report this review

I don't know why the reviews are so bad? I don't have the original mullica wallet, but I purchased this one for a certain trick which I love! The wallet is very nice and high quality leather, the gold zipper is great because everyone can see the golden moment whenever you go to produce something out of it. the load is easy and clean. The performances on the dvd were good and the teaching was very clear. Joe Russell goes over every step clearly. The tricks taught on there are really good. My favourites were license to astonish and whack your pack. The only negative I give it is it is so dear like . Works a charm with mentalism too!! All in all if you have the original and like it save your money BUT if your looking for a great wallet I recommend this one!!!!

I got the wallet after having worked with a small handful of other wallets in the past. Not only do I not use a back pocket wallet because I don't Ike the feel of it, but I wear a blazer or a suit nearly all the time so I was used to using a breast pocket wallet. I've been through a kapps balducci mullica and a large Jerry o'connell wallet before this. I loved both of those but this wallet is my favorite. It's slim, works great as a real wallet as well as its magical purposes, and it has very smooth operation.
The only things I didn't like are the packaging ( it shows up crammed in a DVD case and it is slightly bent as a result. I stuck it under a book for a couple hours and it fixed it.) and that ugly gold zipper. Everything else is amazing.
Best ever! Report this review

I swear by this wallet! I use it all the time, and it makes for some crazy moment of magic! I actually like the changes. I think the zipper gives it contrast, so it calls attention naturally to the zippered compartment, and the smaller size modernized it. I love it! I ALWAYS take this and loops with me, and I know I have a full amazing show.
The Earlier Version Was Much Better Report this review

Like the title says, the earlier version was much better in both quality and handling. I bought this as a back up to the earlier model but was very disappointing. I don't know why they call it "Super Slim" it is not much thinner than the original, gold zipper is ugly and due to it's size and placement makes the handling awkward when compared to the earlier version. Luckily their is a wallet called the Badger which is very close to the earlier Hip Pocket Mullica with the added feature of also loading a palmed-card if you you desire (which I don't). I have become very wary of tricks that have the Paul Harris name on it...most are junk and impractical...with a few exceptions.
THE card to wallet...the Grand Daddy of them all! Report this review

So you want an actual card to wallet, this is the one. It's a no palm...but if you like to palm, go ahead.
The DVD shows KILLER tricks to use with the wallet. NOt filler for the DVD, but actual workers.
The inner wallet is the star, with the gold zipper idea of Tommy Wonder, so their focus goes right to where their signed card is taken from.
