prediction

From the close up magician who created the bestselling effect iDeck comes another off the wall commercial big hitter!

Alarmed is an incredible prediction effect that ends with your spectator receiving an impossible souvenir.

Here's The Effect:
Your spectator imagines an alarm clock sitting on their bedside table. They name any day ie Mon,Tues, Wed etc. and any time (There is no force of any kind). You draw a clock depicting the selected time and day and ask your spec if this is what they imagined. You now reach in to your pocket and remove a photo of an old style digital alarm clock radio. The alarm clock in the photo shows the exact time and day the spectator just thought of!

You are going to love Alarmed. It's a real world worker with an amazing prediction captured in a photograph!

Alarmed comes complete with 50 x custom photo gimmicks (refills are available) and an instructional link outlining multiple routines and handling tips.

This does exactly as described and is quite clever - and very amazing. The routines on the DVD are excellent and will give you the cover and time you need. Not hard to do and a pleasure to perform. I think you will be pleased with this one. Well priced for the thinking and gimmicks you get. FYI - you do not need to use of gimmicks to practice! They thought of that and give you PDFs that you can print out to practice - nice touch.

Super Clever with a simple principle!! I love the reaction you get when people see the picture of the clock. A must buy!

Good Effect, OK Gimmick Report this review

I bought this because I saw it in Oz Pearlman's lecture. Oz has a great handling/routine with the effect. And while I love the effect--producing a photograph of a thought of time, the gimmick is average in holding up the credibility. Anyone looking closely will notice the fishy work. Great effect, but the gimmick is not going to hold up to scrutiny 100% of the time.

id have to agree w the guy from quebec . it does take quite a bit of time(for what ur apparantely doing)to do dirty work so i would stay away from just handing it out from a pocket right after. THEY WILL THINK U HAVE A POCKET FULL OF TIMES.i use a single empty envelope that has a 'prediction' inside. its out in full view the entire time. i use a card in box move to retrieve it from 'inside' the envelope.
also the pics aren't perfect and after a few min or a few hrs they may connect the dots. give it to them, let them check it out, rub it, whatever, then toss in ur pocket or the trash.(if your neat u wont have to).

Exceeded my expectations Report this review

I waited a bit and read many positive reviews and a few negative reviews. After purchasing it and using it a bit, I can say it is awesome, and I don't see any significant downsides. One complaint is it takes time to "set" the clock day and time. It does take some time, but it is easily worked into a presentation. True, you can't immediately reveal their thought of day and time, but this is designed to be part of a routine that gives you the needed five to ten seconds to set the gimmick. The second most common complaint is if the photo of the clock is handed out, the spectator might catch on to the method. I highly doubt it. Once you are done with the "dirty work", I would say the method is totally undetectible. I have a clock that I "set" several days ago, and it looks EXACTLY like a photo of the time and day I set. It will look exactly the same a year from now. I did find that I experimented with different pens, and I like using the finer point sharpie or a Pilot roller ball pen instead of a regular point sharpie. I will say the routines or plots presented are not nearly as powerful as they could be. I like to use this in conjunction with Psypher and do something a bit more thorough, including the revelation of a home address. I have a pre-drawn business card and pretend to draw a house on the back of my business card and write the revealed home address. This gives me plenty of time to do the work with this gimmick to reveal a day and time. You can take anyone to any time in their past, any location and reveal where they are. Very powerful. I would say that the one draw back is if the originator ever stops making the refill gimmicks. It would take some work, and I would say you would probably rather buy the refills that try to make them, but if you had to, you could make the refills. And, if the refills are no longer available in the future and you don't want to make refills, then you probably got more than your money's worth anyway, and if you are like me, you have learned a really cool technique that could be applied to other ideas. Totally worth it!

STRONG reactions, great mentalism Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on March 6th, 2012
Done correctly this is a mind-wiper. I've done this as part of a mostly-mentalism act for a 30 person audience and left them stunned. Take your time doing the business while asking the audience to calculate how many minutes are in a day, and then in a week (10,080!). Make them actually calculate the number using cell phone calculators if necessary. You can do what you have to do while talking with them. Then do as others have suggested... have a sealed envelope in view from the beginning, open it and remove a SMALLER sealed envelope and hand it out and have someone else open it to remove the photo. I use Kaylor's UCCU to help with this final step, and the result absolutely slays them.

While it does take time to do the dirty work, that is simply motivation to come up with a great presentation, mine is to talk about dreams...I ask the spectator to go back in time until they can remember a vivid dream, I ask for the day and time that this occurred and then details about the dream ie: was it in color, inside or outside, etc....when all is said and done Voila'

misleading demo video Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on May 24th, 2013
And again a effect that will be sell by a misleading video. If they had shown the complete routine, I never had bought this trick. It´s fumbling and it´s very obvious what happens if you would see the complete routine. Very weak and much more disappointing.

This little effect is fantastic...takes a little handling but when you get it down you will thank yourself for the purchase and for keeping one in your wallet at all times...I only give it a 4/5 because it is essentially the same as Supermarket Surprise by Lee Earle from M.I.N.D. Page 116...but adapted to close-up/walk around with a different presentational aspect entirely...It would have been nice for them to have given some credit where credit is due & a working history...I imagine they, like so many these days are just not well versed in the art enough to know better... I give Alakazam props for the the "green" packaging of their products & an excellent & ample supply of this awesome little gimmick...
