The SPECTRUM deck is not a trick. It's a UNIQUE and BEAUTIFUL deck of cards which CAN be used in many magic effects.

The SPECTRUM deck is the world's first and only TRUE Bicycle rainbow deck! What does that mean exactly? In 2001, Cosmo Solano had been performing a "rainbow deck" routine for years and always WISHED that he could LITERALLY change the color of the deck not the cards. (A TRUE color change wouldn't involve changing back design, JUST the color!) Changing the deck was a nice trick, but not MAGIC.

The standard 54 cards (Jokers included) will make up a beautiful spectrum of colors. Plus two "gaffs" are included.

The cards are manufactured by U.S. Playing Card Company, on highest quality stock with the "Magic Finish" (the preferred finish for professionals). Custom Jokers and a custom Ace of Spades have been designed for this deck as well. The rest of the faces will be the classic, 808 Bicycle design and yes, there is a built in "reveal"!

More for magicians...

"The little things"...
First of all, there's a reveal in the Guarantee Joker. Yes, Solano could have flooded the cards with reveals, but this deck really is awesome for color changing deck routines! Cosmo wanted to keep it simple to preserve the SPECTRUM deck's beauty.

From the extra cool department:
The cards will have something very "special" (for magicians) about the way they are packaged at the factory... In an effort to make a beautiful deck of cards that ALSO serves as a great magic prop Solano realized that the gradient color order of the cards (as shown in the card spread graphic above), shouldn't be when they're in new deck, (Ace through King) order. They should be in color order when the deck appears to be mixed. Cosmo has gone to the effort and extra expense to rearrange the order in which cards are printed at the factory, so that when you spread what appears to be a mixed up deck on the faces, the perfect spectrum is on the backs! When you get the deck they will "appear" to be mixed up already! But there's a secret order to them! (Just imagine Si Stebbins set the deck up for you at the factory... 'nuf said!) One more thing... The deck has been set up in a way that also allows you to give it a red back look or a blue back look, without messing up the spectrum. The Ace of Spade has the traditional blue back and falls right at the center of the deck. So whether you're a blue deck person or red, you can work this into your routines! Also no matter where you cut the deck the spectrum works. In other words, the bottom most card leads to the top card in the spectrum! And even if the cards are mixed up (not in the order you see in the graphics and videos) the deck STILL LOOKS AMAZING!

Nice deck of cards, really useful in colour changes especially with Prism; it's almost as if it was designed for that trick.

Love these Report this review

I had really wanted these, but they were out of stock, and I THOUGHT they were discontinued. But whatya' know, not only are they back in stock, but there cheaper too! This is a great way to end any card routine. It. Kills....
The. BEST. Rainbow. Deck.(for the price) Period. It Comes stacked in Si Stebbins and includes a card that shows the order, in case you mix the cards and want to get them back in sequence. I could say more, but I won't. Quite simply, buy these, and you will not regret. I really wish Penguin would advertise these more. People don't know what they're missing.

drop-dead gorgeous, not garish Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on April 5th, 2023
These drop-dead gorgeous cards are worth every penny. Importantly, the faces are normal, so these can be mixed into packets and other tricks more easily. Obviously, Si-Stebbins-based tricks are in order, and the range of tasteful colors produced, from mint to violet, rose, tangerine, goldenrod, pale lime, olive green, aqua and turquoise in the process is simply stunning. There are already a few packets and decks with bright, strong colors (if you prefer them try the Bicycle Rainbow Playing Cards), so the broad range of tasteful, sometimes paler and more subtle tones is particularly refreshing. You can also do color changes in which colors turn pale or stronger, rather than merely completely changing colors. I used Spectrum to DIY my first Invisible Deck, and the result is sooo beautiful! You may want to avoid tricks in which the back color is used to try to identify chosen cards, as the colors may be seen by spectators as providing information (even though the very gradual change in the spectrum means there are multiple consecutive cards with roughly the same color, making this kind of identification difficult). Spectrum are also not suitable for DIY marking, as it is difficult enough to find exactly the right pen color for red and blue 808’s, let alone 52 shades! I particularly like to have a couple extra Spectrum decks on hand for splitting and gaffing, as the color flexibility creates many possibilities. Any color name with letters that are a multiple of three (like purple, turquoise, violet, tangerine, goldenrod, etc.) can be used for a unique variation on Spell Purple. Uniquely colored flap cards are also very cool. An ideal base for making Svengali decks where the back color, not the face, is the surprise.

Spectrum Deck Report this review

Fabulous deck which deserves 10 stars...at least! My favorite routine to perform with The Spectrum Deck is "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" on John Carey's "Sweet Simplicity" DVD, one of the very best card magic DVDs I've ever bought. Really easy to do and spectators love it. They don't know what to say at first because the climax is so surprising. Money well spent for this DVD and the fabulous Spectrum Deck!!!

Colorful Cards Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on September 17th, 2022
This is a unique Bicycle deck where each card-back is a different color. This deck is great for supplying unique card colors for packet tricks, self-working card tricks and for your own inventions. The deck includes some very unique shades that I have not seen anywhere else. Just by forcing a card then sneaking in one of these colors into a standard red or blue deck you can have a lot of fun.

Not So Great Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on July 13th, 2022
I had hoped these cards had nicer colors on the backs.
Several are quite pale and nasty looking.

The cards are shipped in the Si Stebbins Stack order.
There is also a card that describes how to return them to that order.

Spectrum Bicycle Rider Backs Report this review

Same back design as always, just a rainbow of color. Exact same fronts except the Jokers & Ace of Spades are slightly different. Expensive but worth it.
