I want to say I would give this trick a professional endorsement if I was a full time magician. But I am not and do not do my tricks for money, only for family, friends, and co workers. I will say that I seriously think for the hobbyist/beginner magician, this trick will rock your audiences world. I have thoroughly enjoyed doing the trick and I love the reactions I get. This is why I perform my magic. Not for money. JW

This is a great trick but I cannot perform it. My deck did not work well so I had to order another "special" deck and pay extra for that. My oil and water cards also do not work the way that they should. I am wondering if there was a way to rejuvenate my oil and water cards? pretty disappointing to have such a great trick that doesn't work.

This and Oil over trouble water are my two favorite oil and water routines. I give this one, however, a slight edge as after you've done the routine with the 6 cards, you now show that rest of the deck, which you had shown at the start to have reds and blacks mixed, now has the reds and blacks separated . You show this too with Oil Over Troubled Water, but with Sorted affair, the spectator(s) can thoroughly handle and examine the deck. Having said that, when you show the separation in Oil and Water there should be no need for the spectator to want to examine the deck.
You know what? Buy both. They are both so good.

The DVD provides a nice explanation and you can get it down solid in ten minutes. I have used this at college parties for quite some time now. Never fails, and the reactions are great.

I love this routine, it's everything you want in an oil and water. I love sleight of hand but I have always hated the culling that occurs during oil and water, this a handy solution to that problem using something you may already have! Awesome

I just bought this effect a couple of days ago, and I don't know what took me so long! This is the most powerful oil and water trick in my opinion. So many phases, also it's easy! I performed it for a friend after just a half an hour of practice, and it blew him away. It was a practice performance though, I always suggest taking time to practice every effect you own.

A TRUE WORKER! THIS HAS A PERMANENT HOME IN MY POCKET. I CARRY THIS WITH ME AND ACTUALLY PERFORM THIS EVERYWHERE. SO EASY TO DO. RESETS INSTANTLY IN FULL VIEW OF THE SPECTATOR. CAN BE DONE OVER AND OVER AND THE CARDS CAN EVEN BE HANDLED BY THE SPECTATOR WITH ONLY ONE SMALL MOVE. I AM VERY VERY HAPPY ABOUT THIS AND IT GETS 7 STARS.

EXCELLENT EFFECT and TRAINING Report this review

I'm a regular customer of Penquin, but I originally puchased this trick awhile back elsewhere. But I wanted to review it for Penquin customers that may be considering the effect. I have to say the effect itself is AWESOME and so easy to do! Sean's teaching is simply STELLAR! No blah, blah, blah. Just straight up easy to follow training that so many video's lack. Even his ideas on how to properly use the deck I have never seen explained as simple and as well as his explanation. This effect is worth the money as the deck can also be used for many other 'special" effects immediately after! Just GET IT! You won't be dissapointed. The method has been around a long time, but not used like this.
