NO sleights, a simple and incredibly powerful, multiphase routine that leaves audiences astounded at the miracle they just witnessed.

"The Poker Test is outstanding. I've enjoyed showing it to my wife and my daughters and look forward to showing it to many others. It just looks impossible. I love all the surprises."
-Johnny Ace Palmer

"I laughed, I cried, I lost ten pounds. The Poker Test changed my life"
-Chris Smith of Magicsmith

There is no better trick out there that can get your audience as involved like The Poker Test does, this is a trick that you are sure to take everywhere you go.

Phase 1: Observation

You ask the audience to participate in an observation test and to focus on the details of what they see before them. And the note that there are no extra cards in either hand, it is a fair test.

Phase 2: The "Easy" Question

You start by asking an easy question, which the audience can easily answer. And they answer correct in telling you the number of cards in your hand.

Phase 3: The "Hard" Question

You tell the audience that the next few questions will be harder than before. By asking what the bottom card was, you seem to confuse the audience, for this question was just as easy as the previous. But to everyone's surprise, a card has impossibly appeared where the blank card was held.

Phase 4: The "Harder" Question

Ask the audience to dig deep into their memory and remember what the color was on the back of the playing cards. But alas, the color of all five cards has changed! Just as openly and five times as amazing as the first change.

Phase 5: The "Hardest" Question

Now that all the cards backs have impossibly changed colors, its time to draw the audiences attention back to the faces of the cards. Asking them to recall what the other four cards were seems like an easy feat. As you slowly drop your hand down to reveal the faces of the said four blank cards, you now hold in your hand an entire Royal Flush!

Pros:

+ Comes with 2 refill cards
+ DVD explains how to make DIY versions
+ Incredible effect
+ You can use any back design and any 'alternate' cards
+ You can switch 2, 3 or however many cards you have gimmicks for
+ No sleights at all

Cons:

- DVD is not the highest quality and really needs better editing and sound.
- You can't hand over the cards for inspection, but you can handover some
- Not sure how long they will last

Done as a proper mentalism act (auto-suggestion and false memories etc) this is an incredible effect.

Buy it!

You would think that if someone had the capability to put together an instructional DVD for their trick that they would do it until they came up with a PERFECT, error free copy for distribution, right?! Well, they almost never do and it is really disturbing. Because unlike a written set of instructions you have to skip all around, using trial and error and gobs of time, trying to find what you are looking for: IF it even exists!! This DVD falls into that group. My trick came with 7 gimmicked cards. It was not until the very end of the DVD that it was casually mentioned that 2 of the cards were extra, just in case. Only 5 are to be used performing the trick!! Gads! Also, you need to supply 5 additional cards in order to do this illusion!! For $20, why couldn't they do that for us? Even though the process is useful it is not a new discovery as I have seen it used before. My trouble with this illusion was that there are two steps involved that were glossed over that I felt needed a more detailed explanation. The first was fanning the cards. Eric could do it very well, BUT, if you cannot do it well the entire illusion is blown. He just assumed we could all do that. Second, a card has to be moved from the bottom to the top of your stack of cards at one point to cap off the final illusion. As far as I was concerned, how to do this properly was not explained well at all. Another funny thing. A modified illusion using the gimmick was presented at the very end of the DVD. For some reason they opted NOT to show you how to do it, but instead mentioned that you could figure it out for yourself if you felt so inclined!! With proper editing and a more concise DVD with more attention given to the details this could have been a 5 star illusion.
