The nest of boxes works for me the way I load them with my routine.BUT MOST routines including the
suggested load procedure would be hit or miss...not something you want from a set of nesting
boxes. You could make it work, just know it might not be as "smooth" as you might like. The look of the
boxes is great for me...they look old and beat up,not like shiny colorful boxes you see around. The
size is nice too.Not too big,not too small.Hope this helps anybody looking to do this routine.

I hate to do this, because I really like Penguin, but as I just purchased and returned this effect,
and Penguin asked for my feedback, I figured I'd post a review. These boxes really are nicely made,
and in large part, construction is pretty ingenious. But the "move" required is not at all
"stealthy" as described in the ad copy. In fact, if you go online to the teaching video, they don't
even bother to demo an actual handling -- they just throw a key into the box without even bothering
to palm or otherwise conceal it. In itself, that doesn't bother me, but there are two main issues
with the design that meant I would have had to do some major alterations on the boxes before I could
use them: 1) the noise produced by the gimmicked 2nd box at the moment of loading would draw
attention unless covered by loud music, and 2) once the three boxes are set up on a table, you CAN'T
move them around for fear of the inner boxes shifting out of position and making the load risky at
best and impossible at worst. If I were willing to reengineer the boxes a bit to provide
soundproofing for the "bang" heard at the moment of loading, AND put some kind of wood blocks inside
the two outer boxes to hold the inner ones in position, then it might be usable. But I was looking
for a set of boxes with a rear load, not a top front load in full view of the audience, so I
elected to do a return, which Penguin graciously accepted. Only my 2nd return in about 7 years of
being a constant Penguin customer, so I'm still happy. But still searching for a set of boxes for
under $500...
