I like this effect alot! BUT, without revealing to much, then my advise is to use "Pigment Ink"
instead! It will last longer and look better! :D Other then that... ITS STRONG AND LOOKS REALLY
GOOD! :D GET THIS!!!
1 of 1 magicians found this helpful.
this is actually really practical.unlike other ink tricks like exile.I like how he gets right to the
point and doesn't fool around.Even though his English isn't that good, I understood him very
well. There are a few things to make the gimmick that you might need to get at homedepot or
something. And he finds a way to apply the ink to the card and make it last long so it is still
practical. We need more products like this on penguin.Underpriced, practical miracles!
Yes, the gimmick requires some construction, what a concept. If you are into card gimmicks, than the
amount of cards this requires isn't any different from those in the past. Bicycle cards are what?
$2-3 a pack, don't buy any gimmicked card tricks if you can't afford to buy a few decks because all
of them are arts and crafts projects.
Second, Arnel is from the Philippines. There are 12
different languages spoken there but amongst them is English. I will say that he speaks soft and
slow but other than that if you had trouble understanding him, you either have a low IQ or horrible
audio on your computer. There was not a single word he spoke that I didn't understand. I'm not from
the Philippines and neither can I speak any other language besides English.
Now down to the
trick. I bought the original shadow from theory 11's "the wire", a few years back and it needed some
work to go with my liking. His newly designed gimmick is great and I'm surprised that I didn't think
of it. I wrote Arnel several times and told him that the trick was great [it is] and needed a more
streamlined gimmick to avoid problems. He agreed and went to work on this version.
seriously, what is more awesome than leaving ink on your spectator's palm for them to take away and
even after they wash their hands, it will take a few days to fade? This is one of those tricks that
leaves a great lasting impression with the spectator.
Arnel is just giving you a demo on
what the basic handling is but don't be a clone and just use that presentation and handling, come up
with your own. I'm going to use this in a mentalism approach using a psychological force with some
readings. If you say, "that's it", it's because you are not creative enough to appreciate this and
provide the adequate presentation that it deserves.
Lots of prep isn't a problem if the trick is worth it but this requires the destruction of some
cards to make the gimmick and of course some ink. Then, if you do it as the DVD shows you must be
prepared to destroy another card as the souvenir. You need to purchase a whole deck of duplicates
and a double backer for this so expect to spend more to make the gimmick.
Oh, talking of making
the gimmick, the instruction is really bad. I hate to point out the obvious but if you are going to
instruct in English you should be able to speak the language fluently so you can explain what to do.
Perhaps I'm a bit thick but I struggled to understand the instructions. Hopefully, when my
additional materials arrive I will feel differently when I have made the gimmick and performed the
trick but I will have to wait until I have all the parts. I gave this two stars because, as an
optimist, I'm hoping all the effort will pay off but I was really tempted to give this 1 star!!
