This is a great beginner gaffed coin trick. It is over used and mostly the same routine by everyone.
Tango makes a nice set of coins for this effect and I like all the tango coins. Be original and you
will have a trick you can use right away as this is very easy to use right out of the package little
or no skill required.

Scotch and soda is a classic effect and one I think just about everyone should pick up at some point. I mean, you just have to! It's Scotch and Soda! But that is exactly what is wrong with this effect as well. It's too popular! Every magician has one, and everyone performs with it. It really can be a great effect and can have several different uses and applications, and if you get it I hope you will explore different ways of using it. It's a strong bit of magic that does get reactions. However, for me, this has been demoted to an effect I do for kids when I have to. It's good, but just overused and overdone. The Scotch and Soda trick was the first trick I ever bought back in the 90s. It's pretty fun when
done correctly. It is easily done close up, and for restaurant work. With this particular set I
found them okay. After the trick is finished they are normally examinable, but I found the ones by
Tango to be enough to where you can tell what the giveaway is at the end. These are a great start
for a beginner or if you are on a budget, and they can be made to work. If you can afford a higher
quality set though I'd go with that.
