Excellent product! This is a well made close up mat and is only $13.00 for the 23X16”. That’s such a good deal compared to the other brands available. This defiantly has my recommendation.

I recently purchased the Professional VD Close up pad.
I got out my favorite cards the Tally-Ho and tried them out on my new pad. I found that when I tried ribbon spreads the card edges did not slide smoothly across the surface of the the pad. There was a definite resistance that interfered with the smooth sliding action needed when doing a spread.
Soooooo, I now have a close up pad I can't use, it was a waste of the very small amount of money I have for magic purchases.
I recommend you not purchase this product, however I would recommend the version that has a velvet surface.
Also, I would like to say that it is rare that I purchase something from Penguin Magic that is not up to snuff, Penguin Magic is my #1 source for magic purchases.

Good quality. Does position well without sliding on the table. For the price you can't beat it.

This is made of really good material and has a top layer which is very comfortable and is also perfect for cards and coins. Highly recommended!
