Ray Kosby is one of the most creative close-up magicians you will see. He comes up with original and often offbeat effects and his methods are just as wild. The strength behind his magic is that his routines will fool you. Audiences gasp at his effects -- when they are not speechless all they can say is WOW! Try to figure out how he accomplishes the routines on this DVD without watching the explanations -- you will have no clue as to how Ray accomplishes these impossibilities.

Routines performed and explained:

The Bite -- Ray's tradmark routine where he takes a bite out of a red apple and a moment later he is seen holding a green apple with teh same bite missing. No switches and no sleight-of-hand used.
The Picnic Trick -- A can of soda is popped open so the liquid splashes. You rub the opening of the can and it heals itself so it is as good as new.
Sidewinder Pretzel -- An ordinary pretzel stick is bent at right angles and then twisted into the standard pretzel design.

Who the heck is Ray Kosby?! I'll tell you. He's a darn good and darn clever magician. I saw the demo video and had to buy this DVD. How's this for an effect: during your act you take out an apple and take a bite or two. It happens to be a red apple. Then suddenly, visually, and instantly, it changes to a green apple. No apple switches, and the darn apple is a real apple that could be handed out after it changes... not that you would, but you could.

How 'bout you open a can of soda and it sprays everywhere as you open it... just a magical pass and behold the can is sealed and examinable. Imagine Paul Harris's effect Sidewinder done with pretzel sticks in your hands... thats crazy! Ray has a pretty sweet coin effect that's within the reach of most coin workers. Also, imagine Professor's Nightmare with Rubber Bands. It's portable for strolling and powerful for performing. One minor complaint, however, the price, while not unreasonable, is a bit steep compared to other products with the same amount of magic. Still worth it though. Get it. GEM!

The production values are a bit dated and tacky but the actual effects are pretty darn good! The color changing apple is easily worth the price of the DVD alone, but there are some other really great effects on this DVD too (the coin matrix being one of the highlights).

Well,I bought Impossible Close Up Magic and I think its pretty good. The best stuff on here are twixt the threads, the Bite, Rubber Nightmare, Osmosis is very smart, in fact, they are all good. They aren\'t impromptu, though, which lost stars for me personally. The stuff is much easier than impossible card magic. If you are looking for impromptu rountines, this isn\'t it. But if you are looking for amazingly smart tricks and watch a genious at work-this DVD is for you.
