For some reason I enjoyed the creative method behind it more than the trick itself. The gimmick can be a bit bulky but it seems more of a novelty or gag to me. I don't see walking around with it or even sitting down with the gimmick on to be practical so I believe street magic would be out of the question. This is one for stage. This cannot be done surrounding so I think having a newspaper on hand would be handy for cover. Overall a good idea but meant for Stage magicians. It could have a real shock factor to it for sure.

He does it again!

Andrew Mayne has a habbit of creating very visual and 'alternative' magic. Gut Buster is a great addition to his effects and a very different sort of magic trick. I love it.
The trick will require walking around with some slightly un-comfortable gimmicks, but if you like the effect then obviously it will be worthit!

More for stage
by Jake DeLong from Rock Falls, IL on 04/02/2010 14:11:44
I want to note first, that this review is nothing against the creator. It's just that, this is more of a stage type effect and when it's being sold because David Blaine did it on the street, it's slightly misleading. Yes, it can be performed on the street if you can get the right angles, but I find that it's just not practical to perform this trick as a street magician. The price also leaves a little to be desired considering is included with the effect.

Stage magic
by Anthony jones from Ocala, Fl on 11/23/2007 18:16:33
This is an effect that I feels plays better for the stage. You can do this on the street, but I personally would not as I feel you get better reactions on stage where there is a bit of distance and it looks a lot more incredible. (I knocked it 1/2 a star for this)
That being said, it’s not a bad effect. The DVD gives a great explanation, and the gimmick is very simple to learn to use. It does take practice. You aren’t going to open this and perform it the next day. You need to practice or you will loose the effect. There is a great deal of acting on your part and on the part of your “victim”. This is an effect that takes a great deal of confidence and a pinch of misdirection and you have a really strong effect.
I’m bring it down another 1/2 star as you need a confederate. It doesn’t mean the effect is bad, but when you have to bring someone into the secret it means you can not do this all the time. I do not shy away from prep work, but I feel that having a confederate is a whole different level of prep.
I bought it, I love it…but I know it has limitation, so I want you the consumer to know that too. Now…add it to your cart…you know you want it!
