The Effect
I want you to imagine that we are at a coffee shop having a conversation. I ask you to move to the other side of the room and write down any 2 or 3 digit number while I look away. I tell you to hold the paper close so no one can see. After a moment of concentration I am able to tell you with 100% accuracy what number you are thinking of.
Now, imagine if I told you it was completely impromptu. A way to reveal a spectator's thoughts without peeks, center tears, impression devices, stooges, or any sort of linguistic deception. Take every overused method and forget them…this isn't it.

This is a unique take for a technique to read someone's mind. The way it works is very deceptive and it is everything that it claims to be in the demo. It is impromptu and can be done pretty much anywhere at any time. The reason that I gave it four stars is because of the presentation behind the effect. I remember thinking the Matt's presence in the demo is a little bland, but it really isn't. (you also get the whole performance on the DVD) The trick can only presented in so many ways but any way you do it, it will hit hard.
But by far, my favorite part of the DVD would be the Bonus trick and out that Matt provides on the DVD. Both are hard hitting and look simply amazing when done correctly. Again the method for these is basically impromptu and very simple. Overall, the teaching and method for this is great I would definitely check it out.

This isn't really practical enough for my personal use, I much prefer Robert Smith's Universal Impression. However I can see why this would attract good reviews but if you're a walkaround magician I would guide you to Universal Impression rather than Technique.

Anytime mentalism

This has become my anytime effect, I carry a notebook and sharpie and I can read peoples minds it is about 90% Just takes practice and a willing spectator. The Bonus billet info was nice addition. Reveal any Number people write down. Get a larger sharpie to assist this effect and artist pad is the best.

Really, not for everyone

This is not a method for everyone. The conditions you need to setup for the spectator. I used this in a parlor setting and it rose well. There are just so many methods to doing this exact effect but this one is the cleanest and requires no setup. All you need is a bigger notepad and pen and you need audience management. This is not for the faint of heart.
Matthew Mello takes care of you hear and doesn't leave you stranded to were you cannot perform this effect. The reason it is not for everyone is because it takes practice and it is not easy. You might need a good imagination but this is an amazing method for the plot. Great work.

So Simple...Yet so effective

This effect utilizes the most simple method to its full capacity. Masking it in a way that makes it totally out of the question as (to the lay-person) a viable method. And the versatility of this effect is huge. From cards, words, pictures, even sentences, this is definitely a piece of mentalism gold!
