Election is a hands-off miracle.

A new, crushing enhancement to the ‘You do as I do’ routine or a shocking stand-alone effect with any deck. Two spectators are given two separate decks of cards. They both freely select cards and show the same card. This is all done in their hands with a normal deck that is completely examinable. Wait until you see the kicker on this one.

Plus you receive three bonus tricks that are simple; not only in the methodology but also in the way they are perceived by your spectators. Great magic should posses certain qualities; something a spectator can connect with, something that is visual and something that is completely impossible. The 4 effects you will learn on Election are just that, simple, beautiful and powerful.

Twisted- A great routine by itself but a better closer. Instead of a standard effect where a finger ring disappears, you make your finger disappear. It gets better… in a flash your vanished finger visually penetrates a solid finger ring.

Sucker- Visual, visual, visual. Bitten and restored sucker. You’ll love the method to this one. It will be your favorite part of the effect.

Distorted- Eric’s take on the card through bill illusion. This one is visual and impromptu.

It's SUPER SIMPLE, And get's absolutely incredible reactions, it's hands off, and the spectator's do just about everything themselves (Minus the setup you do just before)

You can repeat for different people with different cards every time, and it's a double whammy that people do NOT see coming at all. The only thing I have as a con to this is the fact that you have to be very careful with your instructions, or people will not do what you want them to.

I personally carry this setup with 2 different decks than the one's I use during performance and I keep the one in my hand and show them what I want them to do while they are doing it, this has helped the user error to get to a minimum.

Great when done for friends that are really close, or couples on a date, anniversary, and I performed it for a bride and groom at their wedding this past Saturday with a Microphone and had 200 people go nuts from a single performance of this trick. It's so simple and so devastating to your audience that there's no excuse for you to not be performing this routine in your show. The only downside is you need 2 decks and a little something extra we all have plenty of. I have even used other substitutes for this thing on the fly when I was out and didn't have any with me and it it always hit's hard.

It's a great one-two punch, the first reaction is from the spectator's realizing they somehow turned over the same card,.. give them that moment, and then you get an ovation for showing the second effect when the cards are turned over and then you get the applause as an afterthought. It's great!!!!

I have one suggestion to anyone doing his effect.

In the explanation, Eric states to put the selected card one card above the (let's call it a gimmick, even though it's really not) I strongly suggest placing the reveal card about 4-5 cards from the face of the deck, this really helps this trick foolproof and prevents the spectator from ever going any further and possibly discovering the "gimmick which in Eric's handling is only one card away. The way I do it, the gimmick (which can be felt if the cards are spread a bit further than you'd want) is several cards away from the reveal card, and they never spread far enough to feel, or see it.

And don't try and reset it in front of the spectator, there's a chance they'll see something they aren't supposed to, so just don't, I learned the hard way, and just putting it out there so you never experience the same embarrising moment.

All in All,.. This is powerful, oouldn't be simpler to to, set up or perform. Just do it and you'll see people freak out! they lose all interest in you, and don't realize you're a magician stnading there presenting it o them, until that final reveal, where it brings all the attention, and applause back to you, as it's deserved.

Election is amazing. It is very very easy to learn and you can practically start performing instantly after learning. And the best part is that the reactions are unforgettable for both you and the spectators, first the two spectators choose the same card then the cards they choose are different colors. It There is no way people will figure out how you do. Absolutely perfect!

Honestly if I was told I can only do 1 trick for the rest of my life this would be it. I must have done it 50 times now and every time I get the same blown away reaction that leaves people stunned. Super powerful and not difficult to learn. I cannot state enough how much I love this trick

At first, I was skeptical about the method, but I've done it a number of times and at a party last week and it worked like a charm. It does require clear instructions to the two spectators involved, but easily accomplished if you know how. The reveal of matching cards goes over very well and the kicker ending of different colored backs is great. Nice to do with a couple and then say you will take it one step further with another couple and go into Anniversary Waltz. I like to stay with that theme and I use a Jumbo Split Deck as antother way to show compatibility of a couple. Linking Wedding Rings can also be used. My only complaint is the filler used in the video gave me a headache.

Useful Principle Report this review

Good trick. Uses a principle new to me and applicable to many other tricks; namely,a selected card vanishing from the deck.
Well worth the $5 I paid.

Eric Ross loves skate boards, which is fine but used way too much during his instruction video. The card trick Election was the most useful trick in this Skate Board / magic video.
I would have given him more stars if he just stuck to Election and omitted the rest.
