"After a prolonged development process, I am delighted to release what I believe to be one of the most elegant sets of props for the Linking Finger Ring effect ever offered to the magic fraternity. The quality is excellent." - David Regal

"Don't even bother with any other rings on the market---these are the very best. As a student, fan and 30 plus year performer of the Linking Finger Ring effect, I can tell you that these are the rings I have been waiting for." - Nick Lewin

The Linking Finger Ring Effect, created by Persi Diaconis and Richard Himber, is one of the greatest magic effects ever devised. It captures the imagination of an audience and absolutely slays them.

The set includes:

  • David's version of the Himber Ring, designed from the ground up, that possesses a unique set of characteristics.

  • A duplicate gimmicked ring that is made in the traditional click-lock manner, for those who prefer this system.

  • A duplicate, un-gimmicked ring.

  • A detailed DVD of instructions, including a Magic Castle performance.

  • A set of precision made gimmicks with which to perform the astounding Koran ending of the effect.

  • A pencil.

So, this is not a single gimmick, but a set of custom-made utility gimmicks that give you all you need to perform a modern classic of magic: The Linking Finger Ring effect.

All is housed in a lovely jewelry box.

A Routine For A Lifetime Report this review

If you've been thinking about adding the linking finger rings to your act, David Regal's beautiful set of rings should give you the confidence. Yes, $250 is a chunk of change, but compared to other gaffed rings I've seen, David's set is a smart investment. Keep in mind that you only use one ring in performance, but he provides three if you want to create other routines. I would have liked to see other handlings with the other rings on the dvd, but this is a nit pick. David does a nice job on the dvd of walking you through his routine (which is also shown as a live Magic Castle performance) and provides several important subtleties. The important thing is, David has done a great job with the rings (excellent quality) and has created a routine that eliminates the fiddling that makes most linking finger ring routines look suspect or at the least, inelegant. I will probably use David's Himber version ring most often, as I like the security of a locking ring and my routine is done in a spectator's hand. That said, the other gaffed ring he provides is fantastic and makes the handling super simple, provided you keep the rings in your hands. I recommend you display the rings using a pencil (which David provides) or other wooden prop (chop sticks work well or even a magic wand). The visual ring off is a little knacky but really beautiful and well worth the effort. If you haven't made an investment in other gaffed rings yet, invest in this set - you will PERFORM this and not just add it to your collection of "cool things that I'll never use." As David says on the video, "The linking finger rings is an effect I'll do for the rest of my life." You should too.

The production of the DVD and the gimmicks are excellent. I haven't attempted the performance yet but the DVD leads you through it and assumes you know nothing. Every step in the routine is well explained. The only suggestion I can make is to use a staight pin and a small hammer to make the hole in the pencil. Definite quality.

I received another product from Penguin the day after receiving The Linking Ring Project. Although the other product was good having just gone through The Linking Rings made it seem inferior.

The linking and unlinking is very smooth with nearly no additional movements. A beautiful prop, and the included routine is wonderful.

So if you review most magic on magic cafe as I do the you've probably read reviews that would lead you to not purchase these. Yes, while there is no extreme difference than most effects of this kind, the rings are high quality and well designed. They are expensive but they'll serve you well and you won't need another ring ever again. I actually love them. I would say get them if you've never performed this effect before. Don't waist your money on the cheaper rings as they won't be worth it.
