A card is selected, signed and cut into the pack. A borrowed quarter is then wrapped in a piece of tissue paper, placed on the deck and touched with a lit match. The paper ignites in a dramatic flash and the borrowed quarter visibly burns straight down into the pack! When the smoke clears, the quarter is found resting at the bottom of the freshly burned hole, which runs through the top half of the deck. When the spectator lifts away this destroyed upper half and turns over the card directly beneath the quarter, it's his signed card!

There are a lot of reasons to like this effect. It's very visual and very different. Unlike most card tricks, your spectators will have no idea where you're going or what's about to happen. The surprise element is just fantastic.
That said, it's not really a trick that will "fool" people. Given time to reflect, they will understand what they saw. But the initial surprise and the reactions are excellent.
It's relatively easy to perform. The only moves you need to concern yourself with are holding a break and doing a double undercut. You also need to be careful with your angles and handling at a couple of points, so as not to flash anything prematurely (no pun intended).
The other thing you're going to want to do is take the time to pretreat your cards to make them look more authentic. Don't be lazy like Jay. You WANT the spectators to pick up the cards and look at them afterwards, so you want the burns to look as real as possible,

Among all the tricks I perform, this is the one which blows away every spectator, each time, even the most clever/heckler ones. You can't miss it and you have a guaranteed high-impact at each performance. However if you are a worker and use a lot of flash paper, you will have to consider (re)-organizing your pockets to carry the special deck. But the reactions are worth freeing some space.

You must buy this trick if you want reactions like I get, I actually did this trick to my teacher in science we had matches anyway and she just went crazy saying oh my gosh how did you do that she told everyone in my class what I did and then I got populer just like that with this trick this is a reputation maker just practise like I did and then perform ADD TO CART NOW (you'll be bonkers if you don't)
cons: deck is not examinable at the start who cares about that spectators aren't looking for it
must be done once in a while to the same spectator
