Let me explain the problem with this trick. Imagine this: You're performing for some spectators, and you decide to try out this cool new trick deck with a stick figure drawn on it that you just got. You perform Card-Toon 2 and get great reactions. It instantly resets, so when the spectators ask to see it again, you go again. That's when the trouble starts. It's performed once again, getting the same great, if not better reactions. Then they ask you to perform it again. You want to move on with your show, so you say no. They don't let you. They demand you perform this again. Afraid of being attacked by an angry mob demanding to see 'Bob', you perform it one more time. They still ask to see it again, and again, and again.

Now do you see the problem? This trick is so good, the spectators just won't want to see anything else. As a performer, you spend months working on difficult sleight of hand and deep presentations, and this practically self-working trick is all that your audience wants to see. Yes, it's that good.

Now on to the technical aspects of the trick:

Quality: 10/10 The deck is well made. It is not Bicycle, but that shouldn't be a problem (for those purists who say 'it looks like a trick deck unless it's Bicycle' I say to you THERE'S A STICK FIGURE DRAWN ON IT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! OF COURSE IT'S A TRICK DECK!). This will last you a long time, especially since the cards aren't meant to take too much abuse during the trick, but in the end, it's still a deck of cards and will need to be replaced eventually.

Difficulty: 2/10 The only sleights are a pinky count and a DL (although the DL is automatically set up in the context of the trick, making it easier).

Resetability (yes, I just invented a word): Easy reset done in front of the audience.

Inspectability: Not able to be inspected, but never been a problem with me. Just takes a bit of audience management.

One last thing before I say BUY IT NOW (if you're into close-up, which is the only venue for this. It's too small for anything bigger than 10 people at most). This is one of a few tricks (and even less when it comes to cards) that can be done with just about every age group. I have done this with adults as well as kids aged 7-8.

Of the many variations of the Card-Toon effect, this one is my favorite. The trick is fairly simple, and the impact it has the audience can be fantastic. I've been complimented several times on this trick, and although this is not a part of my personal Absolute Arsenal, it is a trick I love to have around.

I would definitely recommend this effect to all card workers interested in its effect. It's a charming effect that not only amazes people, but seems to connect with the audience in a way other tricks simply cannot. Be prepared to work however. Though not difficult, you are essentially performing sleights from the time the cards are displayed to the time they are put away. A little practice and audience management is needed.

This is one of those fun things that anyone who works with cards ought to have. Basically, someone selects a card, and then you show them a flip-book animation on the back of the deck in which a stick figure finds their card.

The animation is cute and funny, and the handling required really isn't that difficult. Don't even sweat the move required to position the card, because the spectator doesn't know what's coming, and with a little time misdirection, no one is going to remember what you did with the card anyway.

And besides, this isn't the sort of trick anyone is going to bother to try to deconstruct anyway. That's because it's not like the usual sort of card trick where you've done something to fool or outsmart the spectator, and now they feel challenged to figure out how; instead, this is one of those rare effects where you're merely showing the spectator something exceptionally cool that will put a smile on their face and get a nice laugh.

This trick is the exact same as the original Card-Toon deck with the exception of how the little guy chooses to reveal the card. If you don't have either, I personally like this one better. You can get both if you want, but I recommend this one over the other.

Again, this trick is so great because there are no forces used at all. The spectator really does have a free choice of any single card in the deck. After the trick is over, it pretty much resets instantly. You just have to put the card back in the right spot and you're ready to go.

Yes the trick is great blah blah blah, but the stock on these cards is terrible. To be able to get the deck to a point where you can spread them evenly from one hand to another is going to take a lot of springing and breaking in. Every card clumps together with the card below it - very poor handling.

The concept is very simple. You can do exactly do what's in the demo with any card. The only point for me is that instructions are on a paper - not on dvd. For a Frenchy like me it's a bit more hard to get it.

Its a very nice little card trick to sneak in for the kids. It looks just as clean as the video demo. My only problem with it is that I wish the deck was bicycle backed. I really want to tell people that I drew markered the animation in a regular deck, but it seems rather obvious I didn't when all my other decks are bicycles. Aside from that, it gets good laughs and people ask, "how did you do that?", so I can't complain

This is a great trick. I get great reactions when doing this trick. People like the cute stick figure. Very easy to learn and the actual trick is a cool set up. Buy it!

This one is great. The quality of the cards is spot on. People of all ages truly enjoy watching the cartoon assistant pick out the card they selected. Most skill levels will get the handling down with a little practice. This one travels in my case everywhere I go.
