I suppose it does the job but it's plastic and easily broken. I already chipped the corner by dropping it. The price of a penny and then $5 shipping was a little less than a metal one that is $10. Get a metal one, get two, nothing ticks me off more than my cards becoming warped. I've thrown so many decks away in the past 15 years that I could have built an outhouse. You will always have the metal one and a card clip is for any performing cardman who wants his cards to stay pristine. The invisible one is just a cheap plastic one that isn't really so bad but not built to last. That's all. Now, go show someone your magic!

This wasn't my favorite product ever. It's a little cheap feeling and my first one arrived broken. Although, with penguin's awesome customer service, they replaced it. But still, I got this guard in Coolbox so I'm satisfied.

this in a must buy for anyone who carries cards with them on a daily basis. I always carry an invisible deck with me, with this card guard the box and the cards stay in fantastic shape. Cards also stay firm ans straight.

This is a great cards guard. However, when you take out the card from the box after a few hours, the cards stick to each other, though it is easy to separate it.

...and both broke within a day of buying. Not because I received a defective card guard. Not because I was in any way rough. A deck of 52 cards in a box (no jokers or ad cards) was too thick for it to handle. Yes the deck fit, but the weak, cheap plastic slowly fractured even with the most gentle placement of the deck of cards.

I have bought several other card guards and most highly recommend one of the least expensive brands - the Vernet Card Guard. While a few dollars more than this piece of junk, it really does a fantastic job and looks great, in several different colors. I also own three Porper (sp?) card cases and while pricey, they really are beautiful. Just, please - don't buy this one.

Though this isn't as strong or durable as a metal guard, I love it because it shows off my favourite card case(s). You can also work it into an effect or two with, for example, a prediction showing through.

It is a great protector for cards, and when it appears in the "blizzard" it's an even better deal. Grab it when it's a buck.

I payed a buck for this, it worked good once but it cracked and snapped in half when I put the deck back inside. It looked nice to see the cool deck box through this but its just incredibly less durable then the metal ones.

I know that some people have complained that they arrive broken, or that they crack too easily. I have bought several of these. Yes, one arrived broken, but that happens sometimes, and Penguin's awesome customer service took care of it. No harm, no foul. Yes, plastic under pressure will occasionally crack. But, it has only happened to one of my cases during use, and it never finished cracking, so I still use it. I prefer the clear plastic cover to a metal or opaque one, as I think it looks far more natural to see the original card case, and seems less "pretentious" and "magician-y" than those fancy metal covers.
