The Effect Imagine yourself borrowing a twenty from a friend… reluctantly she hands over the bill. Just as she’s about to ask why you need it, you confidently shove a pen right through her money! She watches in amazement (her eyes only inches from the bill) as you pull the pen out leaving the twenty completely unharmed. She snatches the twenty out of your hand and can’t find anything wrong with it. Now she wants to see the pen. No problem, you hand it to her.
WARNING: Spectators tend to engage in vocalized profanity as the pen challenges every assumption they’ve made about the nature of matter. Do not perform this effect to entertain your buddies during a church service.
Ideal Performance Situations: The effect can be performed almost anywhere. You want your spectator up close where he’s certain nothing can escape his notice. I'm not a big fan of most Pen-Thru effects. All of them lead to a high amount of heat being directed to the pen during your effect, and your audience's attention drifts a bit because of it. Also, many require switches and or gimmicks that leave you only partially clean. The same is true for this effect.
I will admit I do like the more natural look of this pen-thru, and the gimmick is stronger than most others I've messed with. This is a good effect, and it's not something I would explicitly tell people not to get. But I do warn you that people will focus all their attention on your pen, and that lowers the reaction levels in my opinion.
I personally feel that Misled is a far better version of a pen-thru effect and eliminates many of the problems that other pen-thrus all deal with. If you really like this effect, by all means buy it, but if you want what I consider to be the best and cleanest pen-thru effect out there, go for Misled. It really is leaps and bounds better.

Don't get me wrong. The pen through dollar trick is one of the coolest tricks out there, but the reason I wouldn't recommend it is because there are better options. If you are looking for a really good pen through dollar, go for the Stealth Pen. If you don't usually let your spectators see your stuff then you can think about this one, because personally I think it looks really sharp.

THis is a good trick. You get to stab a dollar without any holes in the end, which is amazing but I do not like that you have to change pens totally to end clean. Also, I recommend you get the Stealth Pen. It gives you many alternative ways to get the pen through the dollar. I also think it is better because there are no pen changes and the pen through dollar through for the stealth pen is amazing and something you can not do with this pen. Overall, this is good but the stealth pen is great. Buy the stealth pen!!!

I purchased this trick when I was very new to magic. Despite my ignorance, I was still able to wow family and friends.
Since my humble beginnings (about 6 years ago) I have wowed many peopled of all ages with this effect.
Pros:
1. Reactions. People are completely blown away when you do this trick
2. Strongest pen out there. For you that know how the effect is done, this is the strongest one there. Its going to do the job well.
3. People WILL NOT figure it out if you do it right. If you mess up, its easy to figure out. I've only had about four find it out, and only because of dumb mistakes after the effect.
Con:
1. Not completely examinable-change required but easy.
2. Almost too strong for the second phase of the effect
On a hard-hitting scale of 1-5 (1=awful, 5=awesome) I give it a 4.5
and share your thoughts with other magicians!
