This is a great approach to the TnR plot. Although my intentions of buying this were in hopes that this would be my most "practical, go to" version of the TnR... I regret to say it is not... There is a bit of a time consuming set-up and for most professionals this would probably not be worth losing pocket space for the extra deck you would most likely need to perform this in a walk around situation without a force.

If you really like the look of this it might be worth it to you, but in my opinion there are more practical solutions to the TnR effect. The flash restoration and in the hands versions are by far the most workable of this dvd. The piece by piece is very angle sensitive and does not look near as visual or clean as other methods out there. The method to being able to show the front and back of a free selection is a very fooling method but as I said before also comes at a cost of losing the freedom of a normal deck and pocket space(deck switch). The signature is also very peculiar as you must only sign in one corner...

Overall I loved this method, I think its a work of art and brilliantly thought out... but I can not say this would ever be the number one choice for most. This is a wonderful flash restoration of a freely selected card.

Pros: This methodology definitely has benefits as compared to some other methods.

Cons: This may not be the best choice when performing it in venues without sufficient ambient noise. However, with additional practice, this could still be a good choice.

This trick deserves the first Nobel Prize in Magic. Why?
Because this effect, the torn and restored card, has been a mess for a long time--just look at how many versions you have in your closet. But it took Karl Hein to come along, and to cloak it in mystery (this has to do with freely selecting the card, and you must buy it to understand). Next, he understood that when you are doing this trick, conditions can change quickly. SO HE WORKED IT OUT SO YOU CAN EASILY AND SIMPLY, WITH SOME PRACTICE, CHOOSE ONE OF TWO OR THREE ENDINGS, DEPENDING ON HOW THE ANGLES, etc... are. THIS IS WORKABLE, FUN, AND PURE GENIUS. This type of solution may never have been worked out for this type of effect, so Karl deserves great recognition for making this workable and incredibly flexible. 10 out of 5 stars.

I had learned couple other methods on torn and restored card. The methods were good; but to me they feel somewhat cumbersome to do. I was skeptical when reading the description on Heinstein’s Dream. But I took the plunge and order it to see if the method would be better. I was not disappointed. The preparation was simple enough. The handling was also easy. The trick are side and back angle sensitive, however. Just back away from the spectators and do the moves then you’ll be fine. I recommend this trick to someone who wants to have a simple and effective method to do a torn and restored card.

This has got to be the best TNR ever, even outdoing Torched and Restored. I DO recommend that you buy directly from the creator though, as he'll also include the special something needed to create the gimmicks

I recently performed this in front of some folks at a convenience store, and in exchange for their time, I bought some candy bars they were selling. It was good practice and the kid there had a souvenir card he was still mesmerized with when I left.

This really is a TnR routine that fullfills three very important needs: simplicity, minimal setup and yet super strong impact! A real worker's dream! Finally a TnR routine that makes sense. And you end 99,9% clean, with absolutely no heat on that little "someting". Karl is an excellent teacher and explains this thoroughly, so that anyone born with two hands easily will get this down and then perform it in the real world for real people. This goes straight into my professional working repertoire!
