Paul Voodini presents Multi-Dimensional Out Of This World, the second in the weekly Coffee Break Mental Magic series. This is the Christmas & New Year 2013 edition, and as such it features something a little bit special. It is Paul Voodini's take on the classic Out Of This World card routine. However, as you can probably imagine, in the hands of Voodini Out Of This World is shaken up and is turned into a 3 phase routine featuring a volunteer being appointed as the group's psychic, a message being delivered from the spirits, and a display of personal intuition that contains within it a subconscious message!
With an presentational angle that incorporates the volunteers' hopes and dreams for the future, this is a great routine to use with friends and family over the New Year period, but is equally usable at any time.

No sleight of hand is required, and PDF fully explains and describes everything required for a fun and upbeat presentation. More experienced performers would easily be able to turn this single routine into a full evening of mystery entertainment.

This routine is ideal for a parlour presentation or could be adapted for close-up. The only equipment required is a normal deck of playing cards.

I have a lot of Paul's work and his take on many things are always a bit different - in a great way. Out of This World is a cool trick but Paul's 4 way version takes it to another level.

If you're already familiar with OOTW routines, you probably won't find anything revolutionary as far as handling goes here. What do you get is context. Voodini takes what would be a good card trick and turns it into a great routine that plays much bigger and that's achieved through great scripting and storytelling.

I was able to implement an OOTW routine into a seance based on information from this download. As magicians we often get caught up on having the latest and greatest with the newest handling and more difficult sleights.

What we need to get back to in magic is presentation, storytelling, and near self-working magic, so that we can focus less on the works, and more on the script.

Voodini made me a fan with this purchase and I've bought several other ebooks from him since!

I came upon this little jewel while trying to find 'other' and 'better' ways of performing some of my Magic. Joe Noblezada does a great job with this trick in Self Working Card Tricks (Penguin), although there are two spots that I felt needed a little improvement. One of those is not shuffling the cards per se, and the other is a 'funny' move for which I want a reason to make. Both are easily covered. In fact, those are minor points, the effect works just fine the way it is presented as a self working card trick. I will continue to use that ( although I add in a false shuffle) but it was because of that. I came upon Paul Voodini's version and this one IS a little different in that ideally you have four people as the participants. (You could do it with three if you play one part). In Paul's version it essentially eliminates the question of shuffling. If that is an issue with you, pick up one of Penguin's many resources for versions of false shuffles. I like Luke Jermay's version,(Penguin) but there are many others. So, I do the set up which looks great on the face of it and then false shuffle anyway, and then, like so much of Paul's work, it's down to presentation. As far as the 'trick' goes, once you do the set up, you are pretty much 'good to go'! He gives you several ways to present it. He suggests you create your own version which I did based on his scripted version and it works for me. You can also amend this effect to suit your time needs. He briefly addresses this but in the right hands or presented from the right person, this could be done in 5 minutes or as he puts it, 'all evening' . The 'trick' is easy. No problem there. It will be received as well as you can present it. Good job Paul!
