"Learn these three effects and you will be a triple threat to your audience!" -Chad Sanborn
"Every magician needs some hard hitting impromptu effects to do when there are no cards around." -Acar Altinsel, Penguin Magic
The Effect Most magicians in the world know nothing about spoon bending magic. As a matter of fact, the few magicians that do perform magic spoon bends are very limited to using complicated techniques and expensive spoon gimmicks, until now...
Professional magician, Chad Sanborn will share with you his famous spoon bending routine using an ordinary spoon! As an added bonus, Chad will perform and teach his linking rubberbands routine and show you how to make coins vanish from one hand to the other...
What You Get
The ability to perform the ONLY spoon bending routine on the market where the spoon stays in full view the ENTIRE TIME.
A fantastic "3 Fly" routine where 3 coins one by one vanish from one hand and appear in the other. This phenomenal routine uses only 3 coins.
A very visual rubberband linking effect that looks like the rubberbands are clearly melting right through each other.
FREE BONUS: When you purchase this product from Penguin you'll
gain access to a special private discussion forum exclusively for magicians who perform this effect. This is a free feature that can be
very helpful in mastering your new magic. Please visit the Penguins
Only section for more information.
First off the negatives. The price is a bit much for only 3 effects. Also the rubberband effect isn't that great.
Mind Bender (the spoon bend) however, is incredible. Before seeing this I really felt you couldn't get much mileage out of a spoon so I stuck to Morgan Strebler's Liquid metal. But now I combine Mind Bender with Liquid Metal to make an unbeatable combination.
Holy Grail coin routine is extremely difficult. The overall sleights aren't that hard, but some are very knacky and take quite a bit of time to perfect. I can't believe Chad says he uses this regularly in walk around gigs. I would miss some of the moves too much.

Not that great...

I don't think it was the product that was necessarily bad, but more the advertising. They advertise this to be a KILLER new cutlery bend, but honestly, the bend wasn't that great and that put more of an emphasis on the other two routines presented here.
I honestly didn't really like any of them; none of the routines on here are THAT original or THAT amazing... I can't really say I recommend this DVD for what is on it, and if you want to learn metal bending, go with something good like Liquid Metal or WGM: Metal Bending.
Not worth the money, not recommended.

I bought this DVD a few years ago and I must say...I have never liked it. Let's review the effects: Holy Grail-(which is available as a download here) is probably the only thing I sort of liked on the DVD. It's a three coin appearance and vanish. The moves are very weird and the last vanish is just completely weird. Rubber band link (I can't remember the name now)- Two rubber bands link together. Meh. Now that I think about it, it's not half bad. Mind Bender- This was the main thing I got the DVD for. I figured it out by watching the performance only once. The spoon needs to be somewhat flexible. Just go and get the Holy Grail download instead of this DVD.
ok this dvd really depends on wether u already do a spoon bend, if u have a routine that is a "typical" spoon bend, then get this dvd, itl really change ur routine but if ur just looking for a method of bending spoons then there are much more cheaper and easier to leanr ways!
but the dvd still rocks!!!

Great!

This spoon bending is great, I use it nearly every day, probably bending 90+ forks a month. Yes, I prefer forks. Pair this with Liquid Metal and you have a 4+ minute, jaw dropping routine. (BTW, I buy forks at SAM'S Club 36 for around ).
Yes, this is easy to do with thinner spoons/forks, as is ALL bending. It does take a little practice distracting people and you may need to build up a little muscle - but it is a wonderful bend. Anyone that says different obviously doesn't understand metal bending very well.
All spoons can be bent, but some really heavy duty ones take a bit more distraction, and you may have to use your thigh, and still not be able to get the same amount of bend. Remember, for your audience, dramatic bends say "trick spoons - not real magic". Slight bends say real "MAGIC". The nice thing about Chad's is that it gives the ILLUSION of bending right in front of their eyes, when the real work is done later (or earlier, if you prefer).
