THE CARD TRICK

You RIFFLE through a shuffled deck of cards and tell the spectator to glimpse one of them.* You hand the joker to your friend. Then you hand your cell phone camera to your friend and tell her to focus the view on the Joker. Once she does, the joker VISIBLY MORPHS into her card.** Then you take the joker out of her hand, revealing that the card hasn’t just morphed on the screen; IT’S MORPHED IN REAL LIFE, TOO.

*This is not the force you might have seen in Now You See Me or the David Blaine special—the one where you have to linger on a particular card for extra-long. With this special deck of cards, you really flip through the whole deck, rapidly, without working about short cards or holdovers or errors.

**The morphing joker is a TRUE demonstration of AUGMENTED REALITY. Meaning, if your friend moves his hand (that’s holding the joker around), he will see, on your cell phone screen, his handing moving (only it will be holding his chosen card).
