Fun Effect, Lacks Utility Report this review

I learned this move shortly after the David Blaine special. It completely floored me, so I decided I needed to add this skill to my toolbox. It definitely took a LOT of practice, but that's not what gets this trick a lower-than-average rating. The practice is the fun part (do this in front of a mirror to really appreciate it). Unfortunately, the snap change is not very versatile. It looks awesome and it's very fun to do, but its uses are limited because the angles are extremely critical. This makes it a great trick to perform in front of a video camera, but not a great trick to perform for, say, a group of spectators.

I've needed a decent and visual card change in my routine and i'd always used the other method blaine used in 'street magic' but i screwed it up a bit. So I got this and am pleased-its brilliantly visual and quick and if you master the end bit then clean too. But I will admit the end is a bit messy like the other review said, so don't expect to watch the instructional video and then be able to do it immediately-take 30 minutes to get it perfect then go and show your mum...

Because I have arthritis, I have trouble doing things like the snap change. This tutorial helped me perform it finally!!!

Difficult for Me Report this review

It's probably just my poor dexterity as a beginner, but the core technique of this effect is very difficult for me to pull off with the necessary smoothness and speed. I am confident that with continued practice I will get it, and it's such an overall simple effect, that it's well worth the practice. I already have a couple of different things I want to combine this with to build a routine.

The instruction is okay, but not up to Oz's normal standards.

Requires little practice and is fun to do. Audiences love these types of visual effects.

Not a better deal around. Anytime that you can learn a secret for $6.00, you can't go wrong. I've paid more just to learn the "trick" for other items.
Anyway, the technique will take a little practice, but the video gives you all you need. And, you can keep it in your pocket. For more info, I think that there are at least 80 other reviews for you to check out!

ok, MOST of us card mechanics KNOW Ed Marlo's "Snap Change" by now, and there are several ways to perform it. BUT, I would highly recommend Daniel Madison's "Glitch", which is a variation of the snap change. I would really advise anyone to check it out and LEARN it. I spent about the same amount of money on THAT, and BELIEVE me, it is MORE than worth the small investment I made...I use it all the time.

Snapping Goodness! Report this review

I really like the snap change. The only down side is the angles. This is alright with me but if it bothers you or you are performing for more than one person what you can do is hold the deck in your hand when you do the change you are fine!

Great change! People want to see again! Report this review

This trick is great. Oz does a great job at teaching the move. This was a fairly easy trick for me to learn. The only thing that I am disapointed on is the angles. It is instantly caught if you are not at the exact angle. I do recommend buying the trick! Good luck!

Very Visual Report this review
Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on April 5th, 2010
This is one of my favorite color changes out there. This one is so visual. It will take some time to get it right but once you do you'll be using it a lot. The angles can be a bit sketchy for this change and the clean up isn't the best either but with time, you will be able to determine the angles without even thinking, and the clean up will get easier over time too. Don't buy this unless you are willing to put in a lot of time in front of a mirror.
