The ingenious design is based on an Annemann idea and in just a matter of moments allows you to transform any ordinary bicycle card case into the world's most deceptive impression gimmick! Perform dozens of different mentalist effects!

A spectator is asked to THINK of any card. While the magician's back is turned, the spectator writes the name of the card on a post-it note, crumples up the note and holds it tightly in his own hand. The performer asks the spectator to extend the first finger of the same closed fist and to touch any one of a face down spread of playing cards. It is a COMPLETELY FREE CHOICE, yet when the card is turned faced up, it is found to be the one the spectator was thinking of! Self-working! Comes complete with pencil, post-it notes and a supply of specially printed Bicycle gimmicks.

This mentalist gimmick allows the performer to accomplish the same thing as many other more expensive(and suspicious looking) gimmicks on the market. It comes with a routine but it has unlimited potential. The only issue i have with it is the prediction isnt always "clear" to the magician (without giving away the gimmick)

This trick doesn't live up to what it says. AT ALL. First, you need to make an extreme gimmick. It's really kind of pointless. You get a nice effect but you really aren't free with it. Not only do you need the gimmick but you are required to do it a certain way. What you get with this is not worth the price you pay. You can easily make the gimmick a thousand times almost for free. DON'T BUY THIS!

this is definetlly jay sankey at his best. it takes like 5 minutes to make the gimmicked box and only reguires like a few simple things. i got this from his dvd art of sleight of hand but its still good. thaks fro sharing this with us jay. oh btw, if you get it from sleight of hand, you gotta buy some things since it only gives us the bicycle card gimmicks

Even though some comments refer to a long setup, its well worth the time and effort. It takes about 10-15 minutes to set up, but the effect leaves a life-long impression. I still have people come up to me on the street and ask me to do it again for them and their friends, and I can because its that portable and easy to do. Great effect Jay!

Yes, as someone said already, there is slightly extensive set-up but it's a one time set up. Once you're done with it you´re good to go for a while.

It's the set-up Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on July 9th, 2004
Although the set-up is not all that hard to do, it gimmicks the trick in a way that if examined closely by a spectator, would reveal the secret. (btw the “supply of specially printed Bicycle gimmicks,” is actually only four gimmicks, two for each color Bicycle deck. If you botch things up easily, you might be buying the trick again just for the gimmicks…I’m sure penguin won’t mind lol).

However, as long as everything is done casually, and the magician is sure not to keep some things in sight too long, he’ll be fine. The trick is great, and I think worth the risk. What is nice about this trick is that the deck in your hands at the end of the trick is completely clean, and for anyone that doesn’t like the obvious dl you see Jay doing in the video (at least I don’t), it has nothing to do with anything besides making the card they pick from the pack appear to be the card they thought of. You can do it any way you want.

Hard and possibly obvious set-up, but if you can pull it off, the effect is great.

I use this with an Invisible deck and it stuns my audience! I think it's probably worth more like ten dollars, but the good news is you get some of the necessary supplies so you don't have to go out and buy it until it runs out so altogether I'm glad I bought it!

JAY S. GREAT JOB ON CREATING THIS TRICK IT IS DEFINATELY ONE OF MY FAVORITES. THERE IS ONLY ONE DOWN FALL, THERE IS A LOT SET UP. EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A LOT OF SET UP IT SHOULB BE ONE OF THE TOP TEN CARD TRICKS!

Before watching the demo/explanation-video I obviously tried to figure it out by myself and got it pretty much right on the button. Which isn't too surprising unless you are assuming a huge mirror pops up behind the spectator. I would like that....Yet, I just watched the video and Sankey actually explains how to make your own gimmick. It's not that complicated and so I would like to disagree with the reviewer who said that you might have to purchase this product again. You only have to if you're lazy. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would give this a 3 or 4 as level of difficulty to make one yourself, 30 if you're clumsy.

Should take you around 10 minutes plus go to a store once.
Also, you do end up clean. It's one of those cases (no pun intended) where people could but won't want to examine anything because they are not magicians. And even if, there are still things you could do. And even if they do examine the case itself there is a fair chance they still won't get it. You can also improve Sankey's method of making the gimmick and it should be very safe.

What I also like about it is that if you do walk-around magic you don't *need* half of the justification for the postit-note, the post-it seems like a practical method cuz you're standing up. Where else write it?

(As I haven't received my shipment yet I am wondering if the explanantion was provided so I have to assemble the gimmick myself, even the first time, but I guess not since nobody mentioned it and it would also be kind of a letdown.)
