The material taught on this DVD is straight out of the professional repertoire of Oz Pearlman, and includes some of his most treasured routines. Each routine has been thoroughly audience tested over hundreds of live performances and proven to be incredibly powerful and commercial magic. Oz guides the viewer through every technical detail, captured frame-by-frame, including all the psychological subtleties that transform a card trick into a miracle!

Routines:

  • Think Touch Turn Reborn ? A classic Marlo effect reengineered and revitalized. Every phase builds, up until the dramatic climax which happens right in the spectator?s hands. Also includes Oz?s favorite four ace production.
  • Emerge Triumphant ? The way Triumph was meant to be. Shuffle the deck face up into face down, clear as day. A mere snap of the fingers and all the cards are fixed?all except for the selected card. And wait, they?re in brand new deck order! Clean, direct, and very entertaining.
  • 3some ? A seductive mystery with a signed card, two lovely ladies, and an effect so impossible, it is guaranteed to stun any audience.
  • Intencified ? Mind blowing, visual magic wrapped up into a hilarious storyline. What more could you ask for?
  • Blades ? A front row seat to a battle between the Kings as they prove their manliness. This routine is logical, motivated, full of surprises, and best of all, draws your audience into the magic.
  • Pirate Stab ? The NY Times declared ?Even skeptical viewers are won over? after witnessing this delightful routine.
False cuts:
  • R-dub-C ? Three packets dance from hand to hand and reunite in perfect symmetry.
  • Maladroit cut - Cards flip left and right, forward and back, in a flourishy cut that?s as fun to watch as it is to perform.
Features & Bonus Material:
  • TouchMagic? the next step in evolution for magic DVDs
  • Outtakes
  • Live performance footage from WatchMagic, Oz?s Off-Broadway theatrical production.
  • Photo galleries
  • ?WatchMagic? theme song by Shawn Elliot

Let me first start off by saying, Oz Pearlman is probually my favorate magician of all time, I meen if it wasn't for him and penguin, I'd still be a beginner using spelling tricks and key cards, "Born To Perform" was my absolute start to becoming a successful card magician, I memorized every single sleight and word, which is why I could not believe how bad this was,

I actually purchaced this DVD Many years ago but I was in no way shape or form skilled enough to do the tricks, so I kind of put it in a drawer and forgot about it while I continued my training,

Now I am a deck illusionist at a professional level, name a card trick or sleight and Odds are I Know it and or can do it, and while cleaning out some stuff I came across the DVD, I completely forgot I had it, I just got done watching it again a few minutes ago and after doing so, It's sad to say but their is not one single effect on it I will ever perform,

They are tricks that are overly complicated for something that is just not that impressive, Even though after years of training I am able to do every effect, I'm never going to, I can't stress that enough

Also Oz had a different way about himself on this DVD Than he usually does, To me he seemed almost angry during the explanations, and he wasn't as clear on them as he usually is,

Like I said though I have nothing but respect for Mr. Pearlman, almost everything I know I've learned from either him or Jay Noblezada, (Not to exclude Penguin of coarse) I just felt this DVD was a rare miss,

If your looking to get into magic I recommend "Born To Perform"

These tricks are NOT the best card tricks out there. Intencified is a story stranger than Sam-the-bellhop, it's about you going on dates with brunettes and blones. Pirate Stab will not be performed by 95% of people out there. Only slightly more practical is 3-some, which requires gaffs. Emerge triumphant (which can be bought as an instant download), Blades, and Think touch turn are practical and somewhat effective, but they require alot of skill and are not especially high caliber. They are good card tricks, but are still just tricks. The bonus cuts? Cool, but you have no reason to buy it to learn the cuts. "Watch Magic" is a solid product, but you will not add more than one or two of these tricks into your repertiore, assuming your skills are quite good.

This is a good DVD. I can't say that I enjoyed it as much as Stealing Pips and Born to Perform, but it does have some good stuff. Emerge Triumphant is excellent. I also really like the false cuts. The bonus live performance is also a treat as I enjoyed Oz' performance style.

this a brief rundown on my opinion on the things in this dvd. over all, I think it is worth your time and money. If you enjoyed the pendulum and the trinary then these two new cuts will become your new favorites. those alone will turn heads. as for the effects, well you won't be dealing down cards, but intencified requires set up and three some needs gaff cards. (double backer and double facer. people might be wondering if three some is better than paperclipped. I will clarify that now. you can do paperclipped at a moments notice and the two "moves" are pretty easy but you ruin a card. and you touch the paperclipped card. but there are no gimmicks and no set up. With three some there is a set up and there are gaffed cards involved. but you don't physically touch the selection. so there might be some trade off there between simon lovell and jay sankey fans...
if you own stealing pips, which just about everyone does, then think touch turn rebourn is basicly the same thing as twist and shake but in the end they are holding the cards.
emerge triumphant. there are no words to describe the reactions you get from this. there is no half passing, gaffs or set up besides putting the deck in order which is optional. borrow a deck. no key cards or counting or forcing. watch the instant download. thats exactly what you get. the shuffle is the most deceptive false shuffle that I have ever come across. forget about the zarrow shuflle or pull throughs. best triumph ever period.
with blades theres a lot to follow and a lot for the spectator to get confused with. your better off doing ultamate transpo by using the ultra move.
I never do intensified. you have to have exactly oz's personality. the story line is some what cheesy and you will get strange looks from people. try to imagine brian tudor acting like boris pocus... it doesn't really fit does it. some of these are tricks that won't really make it anywhere but you learn some really nice moves and productions that you will definetly use in the future.
if you like it or not u should really give it a shot and see the reactions. I did and over all i'm pretty happy with it

A little disappointing.... Report this review

First of all, let me state that I have a tremendous amount of respect for Oz's skills and knowledge. After having watched Born to Perform and Triumph, my expectations were pretty high for this project. This DVD was a letdown. I bought it at a magic sale and I still felt like I wasted my money.

Admittedly, I am not a fan of story tricks. I also didn't care for the back story of screwing up a dating arrangement to where some females know the other females. Oops! A repeated change/transposition type effect doesn't need a story in my opinion as Oz handled the cards smoothly.

Also I did not care for the king storyline used on another trick. I felt like that was wasted on what could have been a strong series of revelations.

As far as the pirate trick is concerned, I thought the patter was a little more interesting--bizarre, but the audience dug it. It's card to impossible location with "mistakes" prior to the revelation. The methods and structure are neat and could be modified to suit your character if a pirate getup doesn't work for you. There are plenty of card to impossible locations out there. I think the card to Snapple bottle Oz did was better actually.

The only piece I felt was truly good was Emerge Triumphant, which you can download or get as part of the Triumph DVD (which is a good value and you learn about triumph variations besides this one). If you've been doing card magic for a while, I would suggest you give this pass and maybe check out some of Oz's other work. I would not suggest this.

The patter is abysmal, the "music" is absurd and everything screams 2004! Having said that, the card magic and false cuts contained on this DVD are great! I know Oz mentioned Ken Krenzel was a big consaltant on this project, and that even fellow magicians like Dan & Dave Buck, David Acer and Chris Kenner were contributors. It's all coming from a great place. Learn this material and enjoy it, but please ignore the patter, performance stlye, approach to spectator relations, structuring and overall theme. Take in the content only and make it your own.

I absolutely love Oz's choice of tricks and this DVD is full of excellent card magic. Emerge Triumphant is easily my favourite effect on this DVD (and in my opinion deserves some kind of award because it is such a great effect) but every effect on here is worthy of praise.

As always Oz teaches the tricks and sleights in detail and doesn't rush the explanations (or indeed go too slow).

A great DVD!

I don't know why people sometimes complain about how the trick was invented just adjust it to your own routine or just "mainstream it" stop being lazy.
