This is a hard thumb tip.

Unlike most vernet TT, this one is maleable. I highly recommend it, out if 6 TT I have bought this instantly became my favourite. You can also cut it down to better fit your finger.

This thumb tip is made from plastic

It´s a kind of plastic. Softer than the vernet TT but harder than the rubber TT´s.
