Yes, I actually created Bullseye for a magic theater I worked in around 2002. It was done with a performer and the assistant springing the cards. One of the great things about doing it on stage is that being on stage helps cover any angle issues.
It also allows ton of by play between you and the assistant as you can play up how dangerous the trick is and then dress then up in overly ridiculous safety gear like knee pad and catchers chest plate and end with sticking a helmet or welders mask on them.
As far as angle issues performing this in the real world. I never had any. I just pointed a sharp dart at someone and said it wont be safe there. Please move over here. It turns out that audience management is easy when you are armed.
