In all fairness, all 4 of the reviews posted, as of this posting time, stated that this routine will take practice.
One even says "not for amateurs..."
But, I empathize...we've all had one of these in our purchase history at some time.

The pinkie count is my personal choice but there are other options. For example push and resquare to get the break under 6 cards. Or simply control it to 7th, then adjust with a pass of a few cards. An easier bold solution from a trick in ECT: control it to top. When they name the number, reverse-count the cards into the right hand to the number named, then confidently slap the counted cards on top of the deck, turning them over to show the selection. A little convincer: let's say they say 6. You reverse count quickly to six. Then reverse spread the counted cards as if you had counted them without reversing. Spread one more from the left hand and ask: do you want me to continue or...? They'd normally say no, then slap the right-hand packet face up as described. Should they want to continue (unlikely) continue reverse-counting as described.
