In David Blaine's Strange Traveler's

I see the trick being sold and the final effect is that there card is in the other pile staring them in the face. On his recent TV show he did that trick and the card was in her wallet in her bag on the ground. She was totally surprised of course. So it was obviously a set up. That's my question.

Hey there, I'm not sure I understand the "question?" This effect can be done elsewhere besides in the hands or on the table

Sonicturboturtle, just stop typing. You are all over the place with your opinions. So much so that they clash with eachother.
You have no idea what you're talking about(and you know it), yet you just keep right on on talking, as if you are some kind of pro on the subject. You aren't.

alternatively -which is probably what he did- is have a friend as a stooge in the crowd and have him slip a duplicate in her purse when she's not looking.

I don't think it was set up. there are pick pockets Ye know. I have never caught david Blaine using actors for his show. ofcourse once in a while he uses stooges. but they're different from actors. unlike wannabe magicians like criss angel and Dynamo. but they do real stuff aswell. so to answer the question, yes, it can be done but I recommend picking up some pick pocketing books/DVDs if you want to have it appear somewhere.
