torn and restored

Hi I am interested in the torn and restored card as a walk around trick. I have heard that Daniel Garcia's version is "the best" but I am not sure why. I need to be able to perform the trick on the signed selected card. Does the Daniel Garcia trick do that? Whose version does that? Thanks.

The really great part of this T&R over the others is...YOU can have a spectator choose ANY card they wish and then sign it. You DO NOT need DUPES. Reparation by John Lovick is virtually the same as this but it is restored horizontally and this is restored vertically. However John's version requires a duplicate with a fake signature. Not my idea of spontaneous. With TORN you could do this with a borrowed deck. That is what makes Garcia's version better than everyone else. It can be done with ANY card the spectator desires. Torched and Restored is very good too. However you cannot have the spectator use ANY card they want. Nuff' said!

I actually prefer Torched and Restored by Brent Braun. This version is an instant restore after the pieces are lit on fire. This torn and restored is very easy to do as well as being very visual.

I love Torn, and I love Torch and Restored, but there's something about an instant flash restoration that in my opinion is the most magical. Smack by Francis Menotti has an instant restoration of a torn card with just one smack of your hand that will blow you away!

Once upon a time I believe Carroll Fox proposed this torn and restored card. The deck consists of pairs of duplicates that have been stuck together with a bit of chap stick so that they appear as a single card. A card is chosen from this deck, signed on the front then turned over so that the back is showing. One then folds the card over and back then makes a tear. This is repeated (in much the same fashion as Torched and Restored by Brent Braun) to obtain four pieces covering the signed card that has been folded into fourths. The pieces are vanished and the card is restored!

Hey lawrence! Great question! I personally prefer Torn because its super simple to setup, your angles are great, and its easy to perform. Plus, you CAN perform with a signed card where the signature is in full view the whole time and there are no duplicate cards. Another great option I recommend for a slightly different effect is Torn Too.
