I have the original and love it still, and actually better than this re-release as the print looks
better and draws less attention in between the spade and USPS writing. With this version it looks
very noticeable and odd right away, and looks exactly like it is; a message stamped on the bottom.
Maybe because I know cards so well so it bothers me, as I am used to seeing them all the time. But
the print still looks cleaner I think above and is not noticeable right away. But the stamped
message still works for a prediction but does not look as natural there and like it was maybe just
secretly stamped on the bottom during the trick. So in this case I like the original location
better.
I believe its just because you know cards so well. I too enjoyed the old location of the reveal, however the USPPC will no longer allow anything to be printed in the old spot. The old fine print cards have not been printed in many years, and during that time the text design of the Ace of Spades has changed several times.
This rerelease was in effort to be able to print the cards again, and give you more. Not to change the design.
All that said, I do love the new cards. I get more card reveals, in both colors, and the finish on the cards matches my new decks (The old cards were a bit rough). I have demo'd this at 4 conventions so far this year and not one magician has spotted the fine print before the reveal. I can't imagine a scenario in which my spectators would ever see it.
You are CORRECT IT DOES NOT LOOK NORMAL!!they should have printed it on a guaranteed JOKER!!!!!!

Sometimes, I'll turn over both cards myself. When I do I make sure that the gimmick AS will be upside down from the spectator's perspective. It's upside down, it's a lighter shade of ink, I mean please....you can try this, my favorite way...use a real AS in your routine and then sneak the gimmick AS in as you handle the cards..top change, palm whatever you can pull off....
