Well maybe not ugly, but there are a few things that need to be said. First, I’m going to have to ask how Penguin’s review algorithms work because I’m not understanding how something has 5 stars despite having several 4 and 2 star reviews. The math doesn’t make sense there.

There are some pros and cons as there are with everything. I want to point out that I liked the download. I learned some things from it I can use. I don’t want to go too much into the cons because I respect Michael Pilkey both as a person and a creator. But I feel some things do need to be pointed out.

The cards in this video were printed on a Canon industrial Laser printer which at one point cost $18,000. Printing these on your $60 home inkjet will not have the same results. Will anybody notice or even care?? Probably not. So the question you have to ask yourself is whether you will care. Are you that much of a perfectionist?

Others have noted that there are other sources available on printing cards. There probably are. You can’t expect Michael or anyone to be a walking Wikipedia of magic history. Magic is difficult to source. It’s even taken me years just to source certain sleights.

Some things I wasn’t happy with is that Michael did not demonstrate this with his own home printer and we all know he has tried this with his home printer. I can only assume the results were not the same as the industrial printer. But, making a video about home printing, I would have liked to see demonstration on an actual home printer.

It would also have been nice to have Microsoft word editable templates so the card is centered. Something I would have included with the download if I released this. It seemed this video is just a little bit rushed.

Overall, I was satisfied with the purchase and would recommend it. The price is low enough to get some good information from it to begin experimenting with your own gimmicks.

Hey there, first off, thanks for the review. I noticed you’re form McDonald Tennessee. I live in Cleveland. Maybe we can meet up Sometime and discuss some concerns you have. As far as the issues of home printing, contact ryan schlutz about it. He prints from home and has great results. I’m curious to know who you are. I wasn’t aware there was a magician that local to me.

Mike
