I'm not gonna be all fluffy and say it's great, nor be a troll and say it's horrible, I'm merely stating a detailed review of the product itself
My background is that of a regular performer at the magic castle for 7 years so I am no novice when I am writing.
Getting to the point...
Pros:
Gimmick:
Very pleased, and is made to last. Simple and not much practice is needed to get used to it. Very ingenious, and I still fool myself with it
Video: Covered many nice ideas and subtleties to perform with your key. My fav. being to perform the trick with your key still hooked to your keychain for a more organic "feel". Love it.

Cons:
Performance:
You WILL get caught eventually. I have performed for people who have seen magic before and get caught right away. Your restoration is NOT enough misdirection to cover "it". This works with people who have never seen a magic trick before, because they have no idea what to look for. *I will mention a solution at the end to fix the clean up problem that the DVD did NOT cover.

Video:
Does not cover clean up!!! With money effects changing a to 0 bill, you CAN get away with it, yet when you perform this, there is a "Hm, there is something fishy and get caught.

I feel a trick, no matter how good the principle, nor how clever, nor how good it looks, is useless if a spectator catches on, catches you, or suspects you of "something". That being said:

My solution: (If penguin lets me post this) Firstly, this routine is NOT meant to be an opener as firstly you have to demonstrate yourself as a magician. Opening with "may I borrow your money...?" doesn't seem very logical. Closing with it is a HUGE mistake. It is to be place in the MIDDLE of your act. The Clean-up: after performing this trick, since spectators are occupied with your props and can't take back the objects to clean up (which means your dead meat in most cases), I would ditch "it" while casually taking out another prop ( a pack of cards) and say "I'd like to finish with one last thing..." leaving you clean.
I sincerely hopes this helps all magicians who consider buying this effect. Though this trick will never go in the bottom drawer for me. It's too useful. haha :p

I know this post is old but since I bought this recently I would like to answer it. I have never been "caught" with this. I don't think working the Magic Castle proves anything as I have worked there many times and haven't used that to push my point - till now :). I feel if you can't clean this up you haven't practiced enough. It's a very easy clean-up and if presented correctly you shouldn't have to worry about the clean-up, I don't... Too often I see magicians trying to "overprove" something and there is no need here. I'm a table hopper and this is an awesome effect for that but I would feel comfortable doing it as a one-off though it wouldn't be my first go to trick. It's a great trick and it does blow the pen version away and relatively simple to do. Buy it and the price reflects the quality of the gimmick.

No, I definitely agree with the reviewer, it has given em good reactions but most of the time the spectator catches me out- an I've practised a lot!

To themagicray, I come from the context of making this a regular worker. Not a one-off. So, we have a difference in view point. Second, you are missing the point and feel you have insulted my skill level (rude), Im simply asking the creator to include a small section of how to clean up, the context of cleaning up, or clever ways of cleaning up. If I purchase this (which I still use and is a good effect) I should have the full package of instruction, not have something left out. This is one point.

And my original review only addresses a concern many magicians may have (doesnt have to include you) but nobody has addressed their concerns over. Practicing the effect as instructed won't cover up the glaring fact that the magician never learned to clean up, because it was never taught!!!

My main point you missed: if it included a section for clean up, I would rate this trick 5 stars and wouldn't have to include the clean up method I included in my original review.

In regard to Danny's post on "IGNITION" You wrote,

"This dude has never performed at the Castle!!! GTFO"

I'd be inclined to give Danny the benefit of the doubt (esp.
as he lists Los Angeles as his home) &
take him at his word.

I understand the point he's trying to make
and that is that he's a "Pro". I guess he could've just said
"I'm a professional performer" but if someone is good enough
to have performed at the Castle, whether you like them or
not, it DOES add a lot of credence. That shouldn't have offended
you.

I think that's all he was trying to
establish. Your response was uncalled for. I realize none of us use our real names, b/c of the arguments & insults that occasionally arise. I don't think Danny has to "Prove" anything & I don't know why or what you're even seeking for as proof.

Even though this post is some 3 years old now, I was considering purchasing "Ignition" today & I felt Danny's comments WERE HELPFUL. I too had the same questions he addressed, and it's one of the reasons I've not yet purchased "Ignition".

If he HASN'T worked at the Castle, can
you offer ANYTHING to prove your assertion otherwise?
Basically, Why are you calling him a liar unless you can produce
proof?

Hi, been doing this for years , great little illusion.
Clean up is relatively easy
Apply some misdirection and patter, make it your own and you cannot go wrong
I have never been caught and have occasionally repeated this trick straight away for certain specs, the illusion is that strong if presented right
It is not hard to make up a story, about counterfeit money etc, just use your imagination , 5 stars

I love when so called "professionals" have to put down the common folk. Magic has been my "hobby" for over 15 years. I have performed numerous times and have even been paid to do it.
This doesn't make me a professional, but then again, maybe I just don't give myself enough credit.

A non gimmicked key ie: " Masuda WOW sleeve, might be the answer? Pass it out to the spectator...

Every time I've performed this, people are so interested in the bill, cleanup is very easy. I don't actually use this in my act, but as a one-off. See my comments in the Q&A section on how to carry this safely.

I don't get this review at all. A pro? Really? I'm an advanced amateur and performed hundred of times and this trick is really idiot-proof. The handling is so simple and so easy to get heat off of and ditch the special thing. This is has never failed me.

Boy do we like to over think things. Look, the effect is hilariously easy to perform. You won't get caught unless you are a complete dufus. You can use it anywhere in a routine, and I don't give a damn about the instruction...make it up yourself. GEEZ.

Ehrinn is the biggest troll on this website. They comment on almost every product an DC I havent seen 1 verified buyer review. Just insults, putdowns, and always, always, ALWAYS, the opposite opinion to whatever the review states.

Ok, so here goes, you all with thank me later!
To all who say you will get caught and there is no clean up on the Video....

Yes, you are correct. With the original handling which is Horrible...There is no finger palming it away...it will alway look like you have something in your hand as you close it, and you are just trying to create some misdirection so they get the HEAT off your hand!

No need to worry now. The original handling you keep the gimmick Vertical and then close your hand and HOPE nobody catches you put it in your pocket or whatnot.

Just finger palm the gimmick Horizontal...it's so much easier and they can burn your hands all day long and they won't see anything. Your hand is in such a natural state and will look empty from mostly all angles....then when the heat is off just grab your keys and put it away, or just put it in your pocket.

If you email me i can provide some pics or help
justplayingames14@gmail.com

I carry this everywhere and never leave the house without my Ignition!

Hope that helps,
The Magic Corner
