I am agree with you.As the magnet is so strong, it is not possible to place the gimmick in a vertical position against the body of the pen.

Any suggestion?

Actually I had the same problem and was able to fix it fairly easy! Works great now! The magnet was not too strong, the problem was that the magnet wasn't positioned in the right spot. Take the gray end and push the magnet in a little bit so that it's not flush any more. It takes a little bit of fuss but once you break the glue it goes easy.
