The Muldoon Match is a decent solution to the classic card trick where the magician is able to
divine the identities of three or more cards, using the “1-A” principle. This version is fooling,
but it still feels like a clever trick rather than magic. There's a moment before the reveal, when
you, unfortunately, must place the selections on the pack. If you didn't have to do this, it would
be a wonderful trick.
Yeah, wouldn't it be great if we had real magic and could just predict everything with no "moves"? Then, to top it off, the cards could float around the spectator's head, and flip over by themselves, making the reveal even cooler? I'll bet there are places out there that teach real magic, just like Hogwarts...
Hahahahah @Patrickster: I was thinking exactly the same. Your comment made my day! :D
Also @Nick L Cowles: Yes it would be nice without a "move". Looking forward to your solution.
I'll add my counter to a 3-star rating. This trick packs a fine ending punch that any magician should be proud to deliver. The method is simple enough for the beginner, but offers a good
enough "Wow" to make it worthy of anyone's cache. I highly recommend it.
Of course to use the "1 - A" principle the 1 that allowed the A must be cleaned up. That IS the magic move that springs the magic moment. Red Mango offers slightly different routine sequence to cover the 1...but here the magic move is simple...and fast enough...followed by boom boom boom strong magic reveal.
If we are going to criticize using the deck as a table...we could simply eviscerate every effect with a double lift. And while many routines overuse a double lift...a SMOOTH NATURALLY executed turn at a single motivated place in the routine...is the basis for many classic card effects.
