Effect

The spectator's SIGNED bill VANISHES before their eyes, only to REAPPEAR in an EXAMINED, SEALED nest of 5 envelopes that has been in PLAIN SIGHT the WHOLE TIME!

The spectator knows better than to trust a magician, but they loan you a bill anyway. You tell them not to worry, because if something goes wrong, you will replace their money with your EMERGENCY CASH! You hand them a small, SEALED envelope to look at and hold on to. They SIGN, fold and paperclip the bill, assuring the use of NO DUPLICATES. The envelope is waved over their bill, and the bill immediately VANISHES! The hands are shown empty and the envelope is shown to be UNPREPARED as it is opened, only to reveal another smaller envelope inside. This envelope also has another even smaller envelope within. A nest of FIVE envelopes are opened in this way until the smallest inner envelope is OPENED BY THE SPECTATOR.

I love tricks that are based on well thought out ingenious gimmicks. The concept with Emergency Cash is nothing new, as this type of effect has obviously been around for a very long time. But Shufton has created a very organic version with a very clever "system" of transferring the bill to the final envelope. The quality in workmanship of the gimmick is top notch. It'll probably wear out over a long time, but could be re-made with new materials. Or, at , just buy a new one as replacement. It's a cheap price for cleverly gimmicked effect.

The one negative, however, is revealing the final envelope. It'll take a bit of practice to feel comfortable with what has to be done to make it look natural and unsuspecting, but it's certainly within the realm of any beginner. Definitely one of those tricks you want to practice before you perform for spectators.

The trick is good, but mine came without the "Emergency Cash" stamp on the outer envelope and without the smallest envelope. The smallest envelope is critical to show the ending clean. Mine ended with the second to last gimmicked envelope. This trick would have been better as part of a video with several effects and suggested routines.

It is great with dollar bills, but this tool is WAY wore diverse than that. If you have a Swami, use this to predict what number the spectator will select. Also, it is a FANTASTIC card closer. You finish the effect, fold the card, paper clip it, and do the trick. Give the card back as a souvenir. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This is a good effect, but be careful w/ the gimmick; it's fragile. Of course, it makes sense that it would be . . . And you can make replacements pretty easily, so I'll go ahead and give it a 5. It really does take people by surprise.
