Booklet looks like it’s a black market publication. Generic font and questionable print job. Looks like it’s practically homemade. Back cover is barely readable because of black font on very dark green. Again, the book looks highly suspicious, and of course, in marketing in Mentalism, there are some mischaracterizations regarding the fairness of words chosen. “Any” word is a stretch.Severely limited and guided. Of course, this can be righted with proper scripting and direction; but the biggest drawback is the the cheap design. I perform as a variety of characters/ and I do a Mad Hatter Act, so this seemed to fit; but I feel like the book would be best presented if first roughed up a bit, so you can say it’s a cheap copy you like to travel with, because this is a book that is normally very lavish and ornate. This book seriously looks cheap, and is very overpriced, even at the promotional $53 and change.

I didn't purchase this at Penguin so I will be tagged as an unverified buyer but I felt compelled to set the record straight. I own a couple dozen book tests and as far as I'm concerned this is one of the better ones out there. The book absolutely does not look out of the ordinary. I have two boys that went through grade school and college and this book does not look any different than many that they brought home to read. As far as word selection, it is no more limiting than others. Unless a spectator can pick ANY word in a book, all book test have their Achilles heel. Whether it is the first word on a line or a word eight letters or longer, they are all limiting in some way. This is not a book test for someone that does not want to put energy and effort into the routine. There is a bit of memory work and I feel the effort that is put into this would pay off. The instructions are brief but direct and there is additional suggestions on how to memorize what is necessary. What I would like to see is a paperback sized book set up in a similar fashion so it can be carried in a back pocket or jacket pocket. I wished I had gotten the original Jekyll and Hyde test when it was released, I feel that this is that good.

It is a highly versatile performance tool that looks very authentic. I personally really enjoyed the drawing duplication aspect of it the most. As it can be performed straight out of the box and allows for some very visual reveals and some fantastic moments of connectivity between you and your audience.
Not that you are just paying for a drawing duplication book test. For the price, You are getting four separate systems which let you run the book test as described. As well as Lukes tips on memorizing some of the more extensive parts of the system.

Well worth the price of entry, and is fully examinable unlike many of the book tests that have hit the market of late.

I like this book test a lot. It has a lot of good features and the drawing duplication especially is killer. The instructions were easy to understand and I've been using it every chance I get. I'd definitely recommend getting this.

As someone who doesn't do a lot of book tests I found this to be a really accessible and commercial product. Having a book that I can perform from in my household and a book that doesn't look inconspicuous really elevates this form of magic.

The principles in play here are great and incredibly clever. Hiding in plan sight you have a system in which you can reveal information in a variation of ways.

Luke once again has brought out something watertight and it should be in the collection of any aspiring mentalist.

Alice in Wonderland is a worldwide well-known book. Luke Jonas has taken this imaginary world where this gives you so much to talk about from the story to how everyone reads them in school or at some point they’ve heard of this.

Luke has taken basically everything trick you could creatively put into a book test from other methods and tricks that I can’t spoil but all I can say is think of how card tricks work with mentalism utility picture decks like snaps or the gallery by Mark Spellman they’re both different and you could do something like mental dice with the gallery or snaps instead of your regular deck of cards as it mentalist I don’t really touch cards anymore. Only ESP Alakazam but anyway, Luke gives you so many different things you can do with the book that it’s literally some thing you can just use as the book itself and still have a long show of different fun things or you can make it a huge stage show and then the show completely forgets about the book and the people forget about it it becomes more about the story in the presentation you create. Imagination is real and strong with this book test.

I would like like to own another one and I saw the price dropped from 70 something to 54 something you guys are getting a steal for this book it really is limited and I know Penguin told me they only have a limited 14 or 15 copies remaining unless there are more still around but when I opened my instruction booklet it had a nice signature sign by Luke and if you’re lucky you send him that picture and then something magical is supposed to come your way. I am giving this a solid five stars.

at first I was very rigid and already stressed out things are not going well right now and this was just a lot because I am a person who gets instructions right then and there fast being artistic I learn better from video instructions and this is like a little booklet you do have to read and if I can do it anyone can do it it’s very thorough and the instructions are laid out extremely well you could tell how much time Luke put into this

there are about 5 to 7 different effects and I am including it with like the haunted Chi that everyone loves for one of the words key I don’t want to give them more information but I’m trying to say I’m using things anything that has to with imagination or the timeless watch by Liam Montier in the UK there is so much you can do to turn this into a real show in the BookTest just kind of goes away and it said you can do drawing duplications and the pictures in the book are so beautiful they pop out vibrant color so you know what is what and I will say there is a lot of memory but it’s not daunting as it feels once you finish the only thing that truly to me personally with my dyslexia ADHD and like I said being on the spectrum is the first word principal method and it makes complete sense it’s just difficult for me so I’m practicing. You can definitely add this to other book test this is like taking five or six different book tests that you different thing I thought the unwritten BookTest I have three of them and I thought that was the killer of them all but I’m sorry guys this one takes the cake if you have any questions email me at Andrew Ace magic@gmail.com. This is a great book test, but not easy. You will need to send some time with method and memory. The reveal is done in the spectator’s hands so it is a bit complicated, however very much worth the study effect. The instructions are clear and precise to what you will need to do before you perform this effect. The more methods then just the first world on any page make this book test a cut above some others. The one star reduction is only for being in my opinion a bit pricey.

Luke Jonas has created a masterpiece. This is the last book test you will ever need. The simple thing about this is how versatile it is you could do a whole set with just one prop. There are so many reveals in here that you will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have true powers. hands down the best book test ever.
