Continuously producing small objects out of thin air is a classic of magic that's been exclusively the domain of the masters of our craft. It's the kind of effect us mortals try, then soon abandon because it doesn't quite look like it does in our imaginations.

Until today.

Creative geniuses The Other Brothers have come up with the final word on making this illusion look like real magic, and easy enough for ANYBODY to do.

This brand new gimmick makes it look like you have an invisible 3D printer that prints instantly and on demand.

Banjo Coin is so fun to perform it’s almost addictive. It may look incredibly difficult but once you get the gimmick in your hand you will be performing this for real people in no time.

The Banjo Coin gimmick is a brand new gimmick for sleight of hand artists. This wearable gimmick can be easily added or removed in and out of performances and it's practically invisible. Along with the custom made gimmick you will also receive some amazing ideas from the Darryl's to get you started performing amazing magic at the fingertips today.

Love penquin, hate this trick Report this review

First, for what you paid and what you get, this is pretty bad. You can't stick anything to it because it is too rough (even after filing it down). Its Uncomfortable and awkward. (Did it have to be made so cheaply?) Even the video was bad. The presentation does not flow smoothly and the gimmick is exposed throughout their handling of it. It does not look very natural. I have purchased a lot of very good magic from penguin but this one was BAD. Especially for the price. At 5 dollars a pop, profit would have still been made. Sorry, but this is my honest review. I'll order many more magic from Penquin, but I'll be leary about anything from the Other Brothers.

With some slight modifications to the gimmick and time invested in practice, this should last a lifetime. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is twofold.

One, because they rushed the production of the gimmick before finishing touches were performed which would have aided in the installation and removal of the gimmick from the body and also helped to conceal it much better. They don't affect the effectiveness of it at all and only take 15 minutes to do one time only. I was a Tool & Die Maker in a mold shop for 30 years so I know all about making things like this.

The other modification only took 5 minutes to do but was absolutely necessary for the gimmick to function properly.

The other reason I deducted a star is because of the fact that they didn't market it as more of the utility device which it is, rather than the somewhat misleading turnkey routine which it might be misconstrued as being.

With only one mediocre card trick supplied, it left me feeling a bit wanting. They merely mentioned a popular coin trick but no real details were supplied.

Personally, I would pay a bit more for polished routines with all the kinks worked out through hundreds of real-world performances. I feel they were more focused on patting themselves on the back over and over for their ingenuity. I hope this isn't the direction Magic is taking these days, simply churning out more gimmicks like a Clearing House of Magic.

But hey, overall it's still a good trick, does all the hard work for you as far as being able to produce cards and coins from thin air...or from wherever you want, and I'm glad I bought it.

One more thing. It's not as easy switching from coins to cards and back as they purport, so my advice is to purchase two of them and you'll always be ready to Look Like A Pro.

Banjo Coin - Visual Magic Report this review

Great Method and simple Gimmick make Banjo Coin a very Visual piece of magic. You will want to do this over and over as it will fool your own eyes. The method and handling are very deceptive and simple to master. Highly Recommend!!

Coin??? No! - Card Maybe Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on September 11th, 2018
I won't use it. It's not made for coins. It's for cards. It's very cheaply made. A lot of instructions on card forces and a suggestion that you could use it in Miser's Dream. If you need this for the miser's dream, you shouldn't be performing the Dream. Other than the one card, trick, I cannot imagine any other use for this. "Coin" should not be used it the description I feel truly duped.

Larry's brothers' pick Report this review

This is an excellent utility device. It won't take the place of knowing how to be interesting and how to routine an act or even one effect. It doesn't hide in your nose. You have to make it work for you. The design was influenced to solve a problem in Miser's Dream, so the hand position is perfect for repetitive plucking of coins (or whatever) from the air. The gimmick then allows the coin (or whatever) to be "cleanly" shown on both sides at the fingertips with both hands empty, before being tossed into the pail. No Ramsay subtlety work needed. Immediately, another object can be plucked from the air. Although on M. Cafe there was mention of using a G*sh**n P***h (a pure sleight) to accomplish the same thing, one big difference is that with the Banjo Coin an alternative to plucking is to have the card/coin/candy(?) slowly materialize/fade into view at your fingertips. This is uncanny. Worth the price? This is a utility prop which is built to last, made of reinforced synthetic material, one size fits most. The comment that you need a large thumb does not make sense to me, since natural movement and surprise takes care of any unexpected gaps.

Banjo card? Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on September 10th, 2018
This effect is called Banjo coin, yet there’s no coin in the demo OR the explanation. They do talk about it and say its very visual, so why not show it??! The gimmick is pretty cool but a bit rough and scratchy. Lastly in my opinion you need to have thick thumbs to effectively perform this.

Good but a little pricey Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on September 5th, 2018
To be honest I bought this hoping for a gimmick that would help me cheat on the sleight normally required for these tricks, and it does. One downside is the folded card or bill, but then again I don't think you can do the sleight with coins. It's still a little hard with fingers that aren't flexible, but at least it's possible with the gimmick. I'd like to see a lower price or a little better quality.

I always love what The Other Brothers come up with idea wise, but then I usually regret purchasing their products.
This one was no different, I'm upset that I spent so much money on such a thing.

Junk! Report this review

A total waste! I look to Penguin before I purchase anything. I should have waited for the reviews on this. I cannot relate to the favorable reviews. The lowest ratings are right on. It's worthless.

Like Training wheels for your Slight Report this review

I was initially surprised by how flimsy it was and its 3D printed body but, assembled, it does the trick quite nicely. If you're not familiar with the actual technique of vanishing the bill or whatever, you'll soon see how it's done and may do away with the gimmick altogether. My manual dexterity suffers from occasional inflammation and arthritis, so a handy little gizmo like this is great in a pinch and also serves to condition my fingers to do the vanish without the gimmick. Hands up a great idea.
