Think Nguyen has taken the classic "Do as I Do" and given it a professional makeover, with a kicker ending that will surprise every audience. Magicians may also be fooled (I was), when they realize there isn't a second card left in your pocket at the end.

What you're getting is a polished, professional routine with multiple handlings taught, from easy to advanced, plus bonus tricks that involve PIN codes, and phone numbers.

Here’s what happens:

From a shuffled deck the magician offers the spectator to cut half the deck and shuffle it themselves. The magician and the spectator each swap cards. When those cards are turned over they are discovered to be a four of a kind!

Think’s handling is so direct your audience won’t see it coming. You don’t just match two cards, you match all four. Plus, as a bonus Think offers alternative handlings so that you could reveal a pin number or other secret four-digit number. Additionally, this master card magician from Belgium teaches a couple of additional more challenging moves to help you end ultra clean. This is Mirror Mirror by Think Nguyen.

ReallyGood...and a couple small "buts" Report this review

I got this few days ago. I liked the method, which is very direct and bold. I've performed it a half a dozen times and intend to keep working on it because I think it is a good piece of magic that has potential to be very entertaining.

And now for the "buts"...

But, the sleight he uses is beautiful but not well enough explained, nor does it do enough work to justify the work required to learn it IMHO. I'll call the spade a spade...it's knacky at best and a knucklebuster at worst. Happily, he DID provide an alternative that is viable (and which I used). If you can't do his sleight, it is not really a big deal.

But, I performed in bright daylight for students and colleagues (teachers). It got decent reactions (what??how did??...)but not "we're in a bar and we are hammered" reactions. I frankly wasn't expecting that level of reaction but just be aware that the effect is good,,but not opener or closer good. I wasn't sold on the reactions in the video, just ask youself if you like the magic, and then go and perform it.

But,I found that with a kicker the mental grinding of the spectators was almost audible. The kicker I used was an all joker deck. This does make it more of a standalone but I found it useful. A blank face deck would be good too.

All in all, the trick is worth it. Well done Think! And thank you.

This is the first time i've learned an effect by Think Nguyen and it won't be the last. Mirror Mirror is a good trick but like some others here have stated, it is not an opener and is unlikely to be a closer. The instructions are good however the main move taught that Think uses is challenging and not particularly taught in much details. However he does offer alternative handlings which are not only easier but arguably better. This is a good walkaround piece and was worth the download

The trick is well taught. Broken down step by step. The "raise rise" move does take practice but an alternative is taught. I liked the fact that you can use any deck at any time with a quick setup. Think has given new life to an old trick.

New, refreshing and devious Report this review

Think has a come up with an updated version of the good old standard “Do As I Do" which is light years ahead of anything you have ever seen before. It fooled me, it will fool your spectator and I’m going to assume it fooled you too. This effect can be done anywhere, anytime, with a borrowed deck and minimal set-up … sound great so far? You don’t have to make any gimmicks, add anything to the deck or take anything thing away, you are clean at the end … impressive? The few sleights used are very simple, nothing sophisticated, one of them is not even really a sleight. You probably already know them or do it now … are you more interested now? There is one particular sleight you may not know and Think does an amazing job of teaching it. You will pick this up very quickly with just a little practice.

This is one of those effects that is very clean and fair, the spectator gets to handle the cards, does exactly as you do and you end up a very dynamic conclusion. You will really like performing this effect and will probably become a favorite once ‘you’ experience the reactions you will get from your spectators. Think leaves nothing out in explaining all the essential details of how to do this effect and even teaches some other alternative moves and handlings making it even more impressive. Don’t hesitate to get this, you will be remembered for this one.

A few different options to achieve a cool effect. If you don't have card experience it will take a bit of practice, but definitely doable and skills worth learning.

Do with any deck, any time. Really great concept and the twice done to get four of anything is a real fooler. Good sleight taught here with the Raise Rise that is not generally used by new magicians but is also very useful in many other tricks like ambitious Card. Highly recommend this trick for originality, impact on audience, clean handling and do it anywhere value.

Worth learning, as previous reviews have said to get this smooth you will need to learn a couple of direct slights. Nothing too stretching , and if you are already familiar with a few moves you may stitch in some favourites .
The teaching is concise and worth learning .
I also agree that if used with a mentalist angle this becomes even stronger.

You will find lots of nice touches and complete instructions in this nice audience pleaser! You put half the deck in your spectator's hands, they shuffle and pick two cards that match your two.

You get a bonus effect that teaches revealing your any four numbers: your spectator's PIN code, last four digits of their phone, SSN, birth month and day, or their birth year.

You will find many uses for the well taught card sleights and thinking in this video.

Highly recommended!
