Works EVERY Time!! Report this review

I use this effect quite a bit, and it never ceases to get amazing results.

The teaching for the effect is extremely solid. Luke goes over everything that you need to do to be able to do the effect.

The effect is super easy to do, works every time, and always gets great results. I have had several people refuse to let me get involved in a game of cards after seeing me perform this simple effect!!

The effect is taught as a three stage routine, but you don't need to use all three of them if you don't want. I typically limit it to two stages, then cut the effect off. After that, when the spectators ask for more, I can give them one more stage if I want to. I feel that by automatically doing the three stages you might be letting some spectators down if you "can't" do it one more time.

Overall I really recommend this effect. I know that there are other 10 card poker effects out there, but Luke's is solid...and it's an Instant Download so there's no waiting for shipping!!

Luke Jermay earned a fan... Report this review

I have to be honest, when looking through the demos, Luke Jermay just seemed douchey to me. I downloaded one of his videos as a supplement to Oz Pearlman's Emerge Triumphant and I changed my opinion of him. His teaching is very good, even though the video quality was sub par. But I digress, his quality of teaching outshines even the worst video quality, and this download does not deviate. I will be purchasing more from him soon

Great Routine...This is a must buy Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on April 2nd, 2010
This is a fantastic blank canvas which you can do what you want with. It is a brilliant routine, that can be used to show your ability to control cards, your ability to influence people into doing what you want them to do, or you can simply use it to show people that you're unbeatable at poker.

The effect is very easy to perform, and like I have said above, it really is a blank canvas that you can mould to your performing style, whatever it may be. This routine will fit a mentalist or magician. A cardshark or a comedy magician...anyone can use this routine

Highly Recommended.

10 Card Poker Deal by Luke Jermay Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on September 21st, 2012
I really like 10 card poker deals.

The cons:
I just think Luke Jermay have overcomplicateded the trick by stacking over half of the deck. I also think he could have gone a little more into false cuts. The video quality is also really bad. He could also have given a little more tips to presentation of the trick. He could have done the teaching a little longer I think 14 min. is a little to short. Luke Jermay also uses gimmicked cards. And 13 dollars is a little to much 10 would have been better.

The pros:
10 card poker deal as principle is awesome. It's really fun to perform. It's a trick people wants to see more then one time. To take 10 new cards every time gives the trick a nice touch that I haven't seen before. You can present this trick 100% as you want to. You can let the spectators shuffle the cards as soon there are on the table. People tend to discuss wich cards they shall choose so you can entertain more than just one person at the time with this trick.

Overall a good trick little overpriced, But if you can pull it off people will think you are a master at poker.

A nice Poker effect that is easy to perform and good fun but lacks a real killer finish.

Luke offers his take on the classic 10 Card Poker deal. For those of you who already know a version of the 10-Card Poker deal you'll find a couple of neat presentational ideas and subtleties. If you don't know one, you're in a for a really great, flexible, strong routine.

Yet another presentation of the old principle Report this review
Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on March 6th, 2019
The 10 card poker deal is one of my favorites since I read it in the book Scarne on card tricks. The method behind the trick is brilliant, and several excellent routines are possible using the principle.

I received Jermay's version as a free bonus for purchasing his 3510 book. The presentation is solid, but I rate the video only 4/5, since the method is not new, and I still prefer Aragon's Blessed poker described in the Book in English.

In addition to Jermay's explanation, a further presentation by Matt Johnson is included. This version I don't find so strong, since 3-2 is the most probable outcome even with random deals, thus predicting it seems nothing more than a lucky guess.

Fantastic Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on January 7th, 2015
This is Fantastic! The method is ingenious, but simple. First, it requires no slight of hand. A simple false move at the outset helps, but is not essential. The spectator shuffles the ten cards and seems to have total control. No palming, double lifts, switches, or gimmicks. Technically, you need only one above-board step after you count out ten cards for them to shuffle and deal. Second, this is very well taught. Luke gives lots of good presentation ideas. Third, this is extremely flexible. The method is simple and assured. So, you could improvise a dozen ways, constantly giving the spectator various advantages or choices. But, you know the fix is already in, so you can relax and joke around in the presentation. My kind of trick: minimal investment of time and skill, but maximum impact! Reset is almost instant. I think the method is undetectable. You could table hop with this, as the presentation, patter, and final results keep varying, except you inevitably win every hand.

Awesome Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on April 2nd, 2010
This trick is great! I have so much fun doing this trick to people I know, whether it be the same person or someone new... because even if it's the same person no one ever figures it out! The trick presents itself so fair that it is just impossible for anyone to comprehend how it's accomplished. I personally am able to pick up on magic secrets if I see them performed once or twice, but Luke's performance completely baffled me in the preview. I'm definitely glad to have this trick in my repertoire for one of those days where all my friends just want to play poker... and I show them a demonstration that they just can't win over. =)

I like this trick a lot. It takes almost no skill to do and packs a big punch everytime I perform it. It takes little preperation and is great to perfom to poker player hot shots! They'll never see it coming!
4 stars because its not 100% impromptu.
