Jermay takes a forgotten classic of magic, John Ramsay’s ‘The Cat Came Back’ and brings it into the spotlight for a modern performer.

Gone are the hats, pictures of cats and props of old. This is a modern version of a classic that will become a part of many comedy magicians' work.

This trick totally fooled me the first time I watched it and I wanted to know how it was done. Knowing the method, I must say it is very clever (as in most of Luke Jermay's material). However, it is not impromptu at all. It needs some gimmick and a bit of preparation. Yet, it's very easy to do and requires no sleights. In the end, this is the kind of trick you might enjoy performing in a casual environment or showing to a friend. I do like the idea of using nothing but a roll of toilet paper and a simple pen, it's quite an usual. For the price, I think it's a pretty good purchase.

Recreating a Classic Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on January 15th, 2008
Luke Jermay reveals he is geeky about the classics of magic, and who can blame him. Its nice to see a recreation of classic, Jermay goes into a bit of detail about the how Ramsay presented the trick back in the day. It's a nice little effect, to show up Grandpa when he does his lapping of the salt shaker. But won't appeal to everyone. Ratings hard on this one, possible these single effects should go for cheaper when there is not much to teach in terms of sleights/psychology. But loved it.

this definitely isn't luke jermay's best since it isn't really luke jermay. its not the psychology of it and real mind things but it's ok. its pretty gimmmicked but that can easily be substituted. i will probably be using this. i guess it's worth buying
