It all begins with one card. It is freely selected. It is chosen. It is signed.

It is never switched, and there are no duplicates. Show your spectators the front and back. You have nothing to hide. The card is torn once, twice, again. The pieces, now destroyed, are shown.

The damage has been done. What was once one is now four.

Piece by piece, part by part, you press the edges together. As they touch, they restore. It looks like real magic. It feels like real magic. It might BE real magic (Editor's Note: it isn't).

You are completely surrounded. There is NOTHING else in your hands.

Once complete, the card is shown front and back. All illusions must end. The card is torn, and the pieces are handed back to the spectator to keep. Forever.

As Blakes debut release, REF4M offers a fresh, new concept to the Torn and Restored plot. It is 100% impromptu, the card can be signed, it only uses one card, and there are no duplicates. Did we mention you can perform this effect surrounded?

A ready-to-go Torn & Restored card routine at a moment's notice.

When your friend offers you a deck on the spot and tells you to perform a trick, you can instantly do REF4M - and leave them something to remember you by forever.

Learn this impromptu card miracle in 38 minutes of unrivaled instruction by Blake Vogt.

Practice is not a dirty word. Report this review

I just had to ring in. What is it with all you people not just on this effect but all over pissing and moaning about having to PRACTICE. That something is not easy. That is what magic is all about. PRACTICE. You have to LEARN the effect and PRACTICE the moves until you can PERFORM the magic without having to think about it. My god. Get out of magic and go do something else. There are some effects that won't require a lot of PRACTICE. But you should still PRACTICE them too. That way you will be a good magician and not one of those morons that make us all look bad. PRACTICE is what separates the magicians from the exposers. Have fun with magic and learn that PRACTICE is not a dirty word.

That being said, this will require quite a bit of PRACTICE. It is what it is. An Impromptu T & R card effect. Your spectator management skills will need to be used to keep grabby people from taking the card. You will want to go into another effect right away to get away from showing the card to much. Have fun.

Now being a newbie to magic, I thought this was going to be impossible, but its not, its so simple and easy! I absolutely love it. Blake is a great teacher and goes over everything in great detail. It will take some practice, but the pay-off is worth it, an impromptu, Torn and Restorn card effect. Buy it now!

GREAT TRICK FOR ALL! A+ Report this review

Rarely does a torn & restored card effect
have an impromptu theme. This is a great
trick to do on short notice. It takes a
bit of practice to perfect, but that's
what doing great tricks are all about.
Buy it, you won't be disappointed. It's
a winner. Thanks Blake keep up the good
work. I LIKED THE JOKE AT THE START.

This trick is so ridiculously great that there isn't a word for its greatness in our language. Blake obviously put a lot of time and effort into making this into the best it could possibly be. I love that it's impromptu, can be performed surrounded, and uses a signed single card. All of my qualifications have been met for buying a trick!

Pros:
-Inexpensive
-Impromptu
-Easy
-Perform surrounded
-Clever method
-Very well produced and explained

Cons:
-a little bit of practice (I don't even know why I'm putting that as a con because it's not that hard, but if your new to magic then it will take some)
- the person you are performing for has to have a lot of time to waste if your doing it on the street.

Over all- Great great trick. Blake is super creative and I love all of his work! Great job man!

Alright Concept Report this review

First of all, I thought I understood the concept when I bought this dvd. Turns, out I was right. The trailer is too revealing.

Even so, the concept is neat, and if you can fool someone with it, it is a fantastic impromptu effect.

Chances are though, you're not going to fool anyone with this unless you're dead on.

I honestly have to admit I probably haven't given this one enough time yet;but if first impressions count, I'm not impressed. First, the video was detailed but some of the moves seemed very mechanical; not natural at all. I'm also having quite a bit of diffculty keeping the cards together no matter how closely I follow the video. It's pretty obvious the card is still torn but I watched the video before I bought the trick and I was impressed, so I think it can work. Be prepared to dedicate some serious time to this one as we should all illusions before it's time to put them to work. I'll keep at it, maybe eventually it will change my mind.

Practice :) Report this review

This is a great impromptu torn and restored effect. It requires a lot of practice though, which is not a bad thing because I (unlike a lot of people) like to practice. You're gonna tear up about 50-100 cards before you become decent at this trick, but once you master it, it is a great thing to have in your repertoire (I haven't mastered it yet to be honest).

This trick is good, not too difficult and it is not a dirty work, there aren't a lot of funny moves and it's very clever. It needs a little bit of practice but it's really good!

This is a beautifully presented DVD---but due to the difficulty and intricacy of the method, I doubt I will ever use this in a close-up performance. You would have to invest a lot of time and frustration getting the moves down perfectly to get the results you want. For me, it's just not worth it. Having said that, there WERE some pros: the music and background shots on the DVD were awesome; I credit Blake Vogt for creating an impromptu effect using just one card---but as I stated earlier, the method is intricate. Another pro is that it is a fairly cheap DVD, and it gives you some insight on new handlings on the T & R effect. In the end, this DVD was not for me-
